Jeez. This is just like the whole air fork deal. Most of the people complaining dont own them or know enough about them to complain. This is how bullshit perpetuates itself on forums. This is why in 2015, rednecks still think "KTMs are hard to get parts for".
I'm not calling anyone's intelligence into question, but I think a lot of people don't fully understand electronic fuel injection, and therefore, are a bit put-off by it. Same with radiators, mono-shocks, four-strokes, aluminum frames, and every single other innovation over the last 40 years. it's been met by innnovations #1 enemy: The uneducated customer.
Great post! I haven't seen anyone bitch about fi on 4strokes. Two strokes stand to benefit way more from fi then a four strokes did. If anything fi will uncomplicate two strokes! I didn't see one fourstroke that increased in price by 700.00 bucks with the addition of fi and if you look weight increase was very small if at all.

The whole "you'll never have to mess with jetting again" is the most oversold line of crap when it comes to FI on dirt bikes. First of all, once you have a 2-stroke properly jetted you barely ever have to mess with it again. And if you do, hell what a hassle it is to buy a $5 piece of brass and spend 3 minutes changing it! Much worse than dragging out your laptop, your $350 software, your test sets and meters and chasing electrical gremlins all over your wiring harness!
And a metering rod carburetor (Lectron or APT) is really the holy grail, in my opinion, for two strokes. The F.I. is just not necessary.
