Changed the fuel screen, original appeared to be dirty when I took it out.

Are you suggesting 2 30 minute idle sessions is a good way to break in a new engine?

I warm it up like normal and go out and ride. Never had issues with any of my new bikes.

Re read the first post, he didn't let it idle for 30 min.

Im guessing its the choke thing.

Change the oil FYI. Now that it has some time on it its a good idea to get all the metal out of it.

It's in the second sentence. He let it idle for 30 minutes, twice

"I followed a break in procedure of letting the bike idle for about 30 min then cool all the way down till I could touch the cases before starting the same prosecure once more"

between this and missing the GYTR stickers on the Yamaha's in the Star thread, he might want to get his eyes checked...

Bedding in rings, which is what this is all about is in theory quite complex, but in practice pretty straight forward.
The surface of the rings and bores is microscopicly rough and need to be worn. In order to make them wear you need the rings to push against the bores, so you need gas pressure.

The theoretically correct way to bed in rings (lowest leak down) is to start riding immediately, constantly varying throttle and rpm until operaring temperature. Then full throttle burst, preferably in high gear from as low rpm as it will pull, for about 3/4 of the revrange then snap the throttle shut to engine brake which draws up excess oil in the bores. Do this 3-5 times and go ride.

He let the bike idle for 60 minutes combined. That ship has sailed.

Just thought it might help someone else.
Seems to be a lot of different theories.
