Colorado, USA: Douglas County Colorado is in the rapid process of attempting to pass new rules and regulations on Motorsport Activities on private land.

If passed, this will ultimately ban any form of track use and will have several limitations on motorcycles, atv and snowmobile use on private land. Different than proposed bans on Public Lands that we continuously battle around the Country, this attempt directly attacks individual land owners and our rights.

If successful, the proposed ban could set a dangerous new benchmark for other Cities, Counties and other Jurisdictions throughout the State of Colorado and beyond. We must be heard to prevent this terrible act of diminishing land owner rights in America!

To help in this battle, please email all of the following contacts:

Dan Avery
davery@douglas.co.us
Kati Rider
Krider@douglas.co.us
Jill Repella
Jrepella@douglas.co.us

Please remember to be respectful in all comments. Below, is a sample message that you can use by pasting it into the body of your email:

I strongly oppose the proposed rules and regulations on Motorsport activity in Douglas County, Colorado on private land.
I am a strong believer in the rights of individual property owners.
Please help protect our rights by NOT supporting any initiatives that would prevent motorsports activity on private property.

If you live in Colorado, you are also encouraged to attend the public meeting:

When: December 9th at 6pm
Where: 100 3rd street, Castle Rock, CO

Below, is more information including the proposed Resolution:

Its bad enough the fuckin do gooders wqnt to take all the public lands and now they want to shut down private.

Anyone have the actual guidelines this would affect? Ie certain acreages?

If passed, down the road this could affect people like Tomac.

Sent.

Can I assume this was also sent to the AMA and the OEM's?
Seems they would want to get involved.

Thank you for your support!
Yes, the AMA has been contacted to seek their help as well.
Absolutely this could ultimately effect someone like Tomac down the road. This could set a new standard for other Counties, etc.
Other details of this resolution include garbage like dictating how much dirt you can even move on your land! Limits of only 2 ATV's, etc.
It's a slippery slope to say the least. And to make the challenge even more difficult, this appears to be lead by a government official who owns large quantity acreage in the County. The entire resolution was drafted in a mere two weeks! Really? When was the last time you saw a government entity get ANYTHING done in two weeks?!

Thank you again for your support!

Done! We need less government in our lives. Even if you don't live in Douglas County please be vocal and oppose this kind of activity. Not just vocal on forums, but vocal via email to our elected representitives.

What brought this on? Why do they want to limit or ban motorsports on private land?
