What do you think of Jeff jumping back down to the 250 class?

He says he's much lighter than last year, and also faster on the 250F than he was on a 450.

He'll be doing the West series.

I think it's a good decision especially for supercross.I think he will definitely be a contender.

MCRMX... the MotoConcepts-sponsored team that also has Benjamin Coisy, Cole Siebler, and Australian Daniel McCoy.

Stands a better chance of finishing top 10 and actually racing the entire series. All 8 rounds of it. The 450 sx class is deep.

Strange, because Alessi's name wasn't anymore on the Fly Racing press release about their 2009 agreement...

Yep, I don't think he will win any, but sneaking in for some top 5's is not out of the question.

Smart move I say. Everyone and their mom is trying to move to the 450 class this coming season.

I think Jeff will suprise alot of people on a 250f. Now that his head is on straight he will do good in SX. He was faster then Mike before he fell apart there for a while.

MCRMX is a Warthog Nation affiliate team. They are really cool guys and they'll be part of the Warthog compound at all the races . . . .

Both boys should have stayed on the 250f for an extra year or two in SX and Outdoors. I think it will be good for him.

Hey Scott, how does the compound work? They've got their own semi and canopy. Does that mean they park in the same neighborhood? Root in the same watering hole?

No semis or canopies allowed this year, everybody is crammed into 3 huge tents. Smile

Big mistake IMO. I am a huge Jeff Alessi fan but he won't do well in the Lites. He just started to make a mark on the big bikes and to move down to the lites again is almost career suicide.

Kind of ironic, I remember him talking in a movie a few years back about veterans returning to the 250f class taking the "rookies' money and how only a few riders in the class were actually "rookies." Looks like he has done a 180 and is now taking form the rookies. I don't have a problem with it expect that he complained about it when it happened to him.

It didn't hurt Reed when he came to the states.

Remember, though, that last year on the big bike was because he was stuck as a privateer. The current situation is that it's cheaper and more competitive to field a 450.

It's a common phrasing structure, at least statesideUnsure

Substitute "Brother", "Uncle", "Cousin" for "Mother", also.

Sometimes you have to take what's being offered. Jeff is a talented rider, but there are a lot of talented riders still looking for rides.

Huge Alessi fan, and in these tough times you take what you can get. I don't buy into all the guys saying he was faster than Mike at sx. Sx may come more naturally to Jeff than it does to Mike, but Jeff isn't faster over the whole season. In the end does it really matter how he finishes, when he is hittin' this.....

I think he will do very well. I think he will suprise you all, maybe even get a win! Jeff Alessi is way underated. I have seen him in person take some horendous wrecks only to get back up and charge agian. But, he is larger than Mike so he will have to contend with the weight to power issue. Either way, I will be cheering him on!
