Gas going back up

Guess it takes just a whiff of a hint of anything for them to raise prices again. OPEC claims they will cut production, the Dow goes up strongly two days in a row, and now gas jumps a dime between lunchtime and suppertime today.

Are we talking gasoline or oil? Last I checked on oil was 2 this afternoon and it was nipping at dropping to $39. ?
By the way. Oil has been in the low $40's for a few weeks now and we have yet to see gasoline under $1.80 here. I'm not complaining to much. We can live with Gas at $1.80 but the numbers don't add up. Nor does it add up when comparing to others prices in different regions.

Opec can cut all they want, its to little, to late for that. Gas prices aren't going any where.

It has been $1.45 for over a week here, and yesterday it went up to $1.55 in the mid afternoon.

My "reasons" were all bogus, since the price per bbl went down despite OPEC's posturing.

Yeah, it's funny, the futures went up 8 cents the other day. Later that day, our gas went up 8 cents. Now the futures are back down 12 cents and the gas dropped 2 cents? Pretty funny since the futures reflect 30 days out, but the gas price increases happen that day.

Don't be too sure about that. Everyone was making it when gas was $4, complaining but making it. With the stock market & revenues down across the board don't be surprised if the taxes on a gallon of gas go up to increase the revenue stream. One of the reasons prices went down was because of the drop in demand when it was $4. Maybe the oil companies bait & switch won't work this time & people will continue to use less. I find it interesting that OPEC announces a drop in production & the price of a barrel went down.

Weirdness continues. Today at lunchtime it's back down to $1.45

it got down to $1.37 last week here. now it's about $1.55.

Went up four cents yesterday.

I'm thinking it's all about holiday travel.

They know we all have somewhere to go, no matter the price.

my gasoline bill is $150 a month compared to $400 a month when prices where higher. It's saving my ass with low prices now.

Oil is under $40/brl now. They can cut production but it wont keep pace with demand plummeting.

Petrol prices at the pump will drop eventually too.

This is the age of deflation folks.

Yep.. People are getting used to not driving so much, and buying more fuel efficient cars. OPEC focked themselves and now they will pay for it.
