What class were you riding. Looks like a 125. Figured you were either going up against Tim Peck (rode #4 on an RM125), or you were in the A class working with Troy Graham, and Mark Weaver.
Probably a little of all of them. 6 was an A rider in the B class. You never knew what class he'd ride. I think it was based on the severity of the hangover

Awesome pic!!! Im sure we were there that day. I remember watching James Eickel on a YZ80, he was a class or 2 ahead of me. Another was Jon Agin on his CR125 in the schoolboy class wearing a Pepsi helmet and wanting to be that fast one day!

When a jury will reward someone $2,860,000 for spilling hot coffee on themselves.

The jury damages included $160,000[3] to cover medical expenses and compensatory damages and $2.7 million in punitive damages. The trial judge reduced the final verdict to $640,000, and the parties settled for a confidential amount before an appeal was decided.

We ALL need to stop thinking, "I am going to sue for as much money as I can get" when shit happens to us.

I raced this track one time on a mini, and I loved it. Why we never went back I'm not exactly sure.

It was an early season race either 99-00, and was the first time I ventured away from my local scene. At the end of the previous season I had beat some fast kids locally, and a family friend convinced us to chase competition in order continuing progressing. Not a soul knew who I was, and without shroud graphics I was likely perceived as a squid before the race. At the time the only stickers on my bike was people that gave me support, and since Kawasaki wasn't one the shroud graphics had to go. First moto I got the holeshot and won. Before the second moto I was on the line and the second place rider's dad stops to talk with me. He said "boy you sure can haul the mail but where the hell are you from? We never heard of you, and my son and his buddy are interested in who the kid is that kicked their ass". Very nice guy and I ended up hanging with his son the rest of the day after the second moto. You say but what about the second moto? About the same time I started hitting my stride on a mini I began to accumulate head injuries, and these have been quite cruel to my memory. I can't remember the kind gentleman's or his son's name, and I'm not positive what I got in the second moto. I will have to look for the plack/trophy at my parent's house.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane even thou it was a bit foggy for me.

I put so many laps in at that track over the years that I could have done it blind folded. Tons of great memories from Honda Hills, I think it could re open tomorrow and be just as popular. Shame that won't happen.

Rode there for the first time on my 1979 XR80. What a squid. Rode in jeans, green rubber work boots and a t-shirt. It worked however and came back for years to race that track. I can still ride it in my mind. After college I went back with my brother and his 125 and Dick had sold the place. They were running the track backwards! My brother and I felt like we should stand out on the track and yell at everybody ; "You're going the wrong way!" Some of best memories of being a kid is at Honda Hills......
