Seems too convenient given his withdrawal notice for the Aussie SX, followed later by a re-annoucement to confirm he was back in after getting beat up pretty hard by social media.

I don't blame him though. With a guy like Stew that's so likely to crash his brains out and get hurt and the constant thoughts of near retirement in the air, why even chance it with these one-off races that don't mean jack?

If he truly only has a couple years left, I commend him for focusing on being prepared for the series where he belongs to make a strong, season-long run at the championship.

I hope he doesn't stub a toe before A1. Rehab and testing could send him into retirement.

How convenient. Now that pesky race in Aus has been dealt with, he can disappear off the radar for a few weeks before releasing some footage "for the fans" of him ripping up his own track just prior to A1. Nice work, if you can get it.

Smart move. Stew has proven fragile of late. No need to chance it when it doesn't count.

Any conspiracy theory that revolves around a rider injuring himself gets thrown in the trash immediately.

Yeah, haters are going to hate. I am sure Stew would like to get some more gate drops. But you CANNOT throw the season away on something like a meaningless off season race. It is simple logic. If there are any doubts of his health or ankle you do not do it. Period. Despite peer pressure.

Anyone that doesn't understand that just doesn't get it. I seriously doubt he staged getting toted off in Lille and wincing in pain. C'mon, people. Give it a rest.

Why did he ride the mec, red bull events? One off races. , the logic you give makes no sense, and i m pretty sure he has to ride brfore sx starts. Or dont ride according to your theory, practice, race. 2 different things.

Think about your question again and you might find your own answer as to why he raced those events.

He was not injured before those races. Now he is injured.

No theory needed.

Some of you act like JS7 owes you something. It's his life and his choices, and I am looking forward to seeing him line up at A1 along with the rest of the guys.

Totally agree. The fact that he keeps coming back proves how mentally strong he is, even if the fans treat him like rubbish at times.
If he wins again his band wagon will be full within two weeks, and everyone will say "yeah Stew, knew you could do it, always liked the guy".

I don't understand guys being hard on him. He seems like a super nice guy to me. He loves riding dirt bikes. What makes any of you think he just makes up excuses? Seems like a tough guy to me.

I think it is pretty lame that so many on here just bitch about someone getting hurt and missing a race. I mean honestly do those complaining think he traveled all the way to Lille and stuck around thru all the chaos going on if he didn't want to race?

He got hurt and was carried off for Christ's sake. I love Vital but sometimes some people on here are just ridiculous.

If you think people on here are bad, you should look at some of the comments from the Australian "fans"....

I specifically remember somebody posting that they hoped he'd break his leg and never race again.

Disgusting
