Turning your current bike into a 500AF?

Has anybody gone this route, or does Service Honda even offer this service? Depending on the cost (and if they'll do it), I'm contemplating sending my '10 CRF450 off to get a 500 slapped in there. AJ? Is this a thing, or do you start with new frames only?

Why not keep your 450 and build your CR500 from the ground up? I have a 2010 CRF250 frame, swingarm, seat, airbox you could get at a good price. robinmac82@yahoo.com if interested.

It'ss not just the piss-poor welding either. It's the lack of customer service, and all the peripherals involved. The Home Depot sewer pipe airboot connector, the Home Depot aluminum stock headstays, the self-tapping screw airbox modification.

A lot of things in this community are a gray issue, and a matter of opinion. Most, even. But the MPS thing is black and white. He produces abominations, and anyone who thinks otherwise deserves what they have coming to them.

Because money is a severely limiting factor!

Oh, I'm aware of the MPS thread. Nobody but Service Honda will be touching it if I go through with it.
