It's BS whichever way you wanna spin it, and a press release from his team is a pretty weak way to handle it as well

Australia is too close to A1. It is what it is. He has just a couple of good seasons left in him. I`m out of this one. Blow off your steam, boys.
Aus is just too close to A1? How was he not aware of that six months ago? If his wrist had anything whatsoever to do with this he wouldn't be racing in France.

Easy for someone who hasn't just spent a couple grand to see him say "it is what is". I didn't, but I have friends who did.

The difference is two weeks which is a lot for rehab. I I get your frustration. I would be livid too if I spent that money. Friend of mine just booked his fight to Paris for this weekend.

He's still doing Lille right? Is that in a time warp?

Hey the racing will still be good at least go to support the industry the more money they make the more riders they can get.
Like the riders and coaches say "There's no substitute for a gate drop" unless you get it in a container

statement from the promotor,

Management of the AUS-X Open are hugely disappointed with James Stewart’s announcement to pull out of the 2015 AUS-X Open event this morning. Stewart was contracted to race both 28 and 29 November events and we are shocked to hear from his management this morning, he is no longer racing.

AUS-X Open management will fly to the US this morning to resolve this situation and will continue to update fans attending the event with any progress that is made. The AUS-X Open event will be the biggest action sports event competition in Australian history, with two-time world champion and hero Chad Reed competing against Australia’s very best.

The AUS-X Open will hold the world’s only and Australian first best trick freestyle motocross event, including six of the world’s best FMX riders – Tom Pages, Taka Higashino, Jackson Strong, Rob Adelberg, David Rinaldo and Libor Podmol.

Action will be more insane than ever with riders across the supercross and freestyle motocross best trick disciplines all competing for $150,000 in prize money. The stage is set for the most spectacular action sports competition in Australian history with pyrotechnics, DJs and FMX shows adding fire to the Supercross and FMX competition on 28-29 November.

I certainly would be, but I wouldn't have done that, because you can never know for sure if any of these guys will be there until race day.

Yeah, but that was mostly in part to some lunatic feminist who started a national campaign to make sure his Visa would not be approved. He had been here in 2011, but somehow in 2015 he was all of a sudden some sort of front man for violence against women. Our country is a joke !!
We have those same shrieking lunatics in America, my friend. They just got a college president fired lol.

Always issues and drama around Stewart, thats why Roger Decoster never wanted anything to do with him, just not reliable. Ktm loves guys like Dungey who do their job and go home.

Problem is that having a huge name like Stewart racing in Australia is pretty rare, so when an announcement like that is made, tickets sell out instantly, and if you want to go, you have to get in early. That means dropping a fair chunk of cash to do so.

Well guys I have been working straight nights. I'm kinda over the modern day Stewart. So I just go back to 2002 and watch all the 125 nationals from 02-04. Forgot how close those championships were from 01-04. There is a guy in YouTube that has them all and cut the commercials. Not the best quality, but some great racing.

That sucks! I'm bummed for all the Aus & NZ people that where going. I know they dropped alot of coin on plane tickets, race tickets, nice hotels, etc. I'm sure alot of folks were making it a week long vacation, if not a few days at least. This was alot of peoples last chance to see 2 legends go head to head in their home town. They won't ever have this chance again & that has to be gutting!

I'd be fired if I tried to pull some shit like this at work. As a professional in my industry, I know I have to suck it up & go in no matter what I'm feeling like. The customer doesn't want to hear my excuses nor do they care, they expect me to be there & provide them the service their paying for.

These guys forget that, at the end of the day, they are entertainers. This situation is like paying to see the headline act at a concert but only getting to see the opening support act. Racing does not exist just for the riders chance to win a championship, otherwise it wouldn't be possible.

Could it be because of the trouble he got in 2011? Not being a smartass, this is a legitimate question. I heard its hard to get a Visa into Oz if you have legal troubles.
So it's hard to get into a former penal colony if you've had legal problem. Noted.

If that were true, we'd have to boost your membership cost to support the weight of your avatar.

No way.

He'll be an even bigger hero in Austraila now by showing up when Stew wouldnt. In fact, i wouldnt be surprised if he slammed James in some stadium interviews for not showing up.

Hes the guy who showed up for the fight, not the one who chickened out.

I wouldn't have taken the bet however I did think to myself at the time that I'd be surprised if he turned up.
