I have a primary drive back sprocket in orange and its a good sprocket but the color has faded so bad it doesnt even look orange anymore, and i got it 3 months ago... Always kept inside. Tag makes some amazing sprocket.

I like those drc sprockets there. Think I'll try those on my 2017. My Ironman will last at least another season

Dirt Tricks sprockets look a lot like the Iron Man sprockets, both have the spider web look, less material. I snapped an Iron Man on a 450, which threw the chain in the case; resulting in a destroyed clutch housing...was not cheap. From that point on, I decided that I will only use a sprocket that makes a continuous circle.
Yes, Dirt Tricks is the company, Ironman is the name of their sprocket.

What do you think caused it to snap? That's a real bizarre deal I would imagine.

Here is another vote for Primary Drive....I run their steal sprockets and X ring gold chain...and they last FOREVER!

Only downside to buying the primary drive combo is that they only come in stock sprocket sizes.

Another vote for the PD steel sprockets and gold x ring chain
- had a whole bunch of race - gas gift cards from rm/atv

Needed a set for my rm, very impressed w/ fitment and quality. For under $90, that I ordered another set for my RMZ also. And don't forget some new chain blocks while your at it

** note they only came in oem spec sizes and chain came pre-cut to the exact length needed. Nice and easy !!

I went with the Sunstar Works Z rear sprocket and the DID ERT2 gold chain. Granted I ride a 125 but I put it on in July and it looks as good as the day I put it on. The Sunstar sprocket is a bit more expensive than most but in my opinion it's worth the extra coin as I go through a new aluminum sprocket every couple of months.

Keep an eye on your master link...chain guide tends to wear on it.
Keep a couple in reserve.

you can't go wrong with a iron man / dirt tricks sprocket combo . Outlast any sprocket and a year gaurantee warranty to not break a tooth.

specially now with the new colors they have Instead of just silver like before .

I think a few of the bolts came loose (should have kept a closer eye I know), and the sprocket had a fraction of play, which created a ton of stress on the arms/webs (whatever you want to call the supports) and snapped. Not for sure but that's my guess.

The lack of material is concerning, I'd be afraid to run those with the HP/Torque of a modern 250/350/450. But i'm sure they have done all the relevant testing during R&D.

Guys,
I work at a Sprocket brand that is well know in my country.
We will start our sales in USA around next February.

We developed a steel sprocket that looks at least as good as an aluminum one, and it last around 80hrs if used with one o'ring chain.
With a very attractive cost...

I don't want to spam the brand name here as we are not yet advertising the company on the site, but i will give a sprocket set as gift to the OP and for the first guy to comment my post ( must live in USA, otherwise hard to ship ).

I definitely would be a good test for you. Im literally getting my 2015 Honda 450 ready for next race season and am looking at a Renthal Twin ring sprocket. I race /ride every weekend and in all kinds of conditions. A perfect test for your sprocket. Let me know if you are interested and I will report the results to everybody as payback to you.

thank you

Here's another good option.... not fully launched yet, but combination of quality, durability & $$$ should be pretty good.

I use the mino steel sprockets (not the twinring as pictured, the normal lightweight steel ones) - put a new one of those on each of my rear wheels (one I use to practice and one to race) and they last all season, with a good quality chain

Spend what you save on whiskey since there is chill in the air, beer is for summer
That's the dumbest thing I've ever read on here.

Why do you think they make porters and stouts? Beer is for summer, ridiculous. Shocked

I just put a Primary Drive kit on my CRF450. Took one ride on it and it makes a little noise but seems to be mint. Didn't stretch at all on the first ride. Hoping it lasts all year. It is a bummer that it doesn't look nice.
