I hate to admit it but I just sold my CRF450 yesterday and after I have my back surgery in a couple of weeks and heal up after, I plan on getting back to work saving up and buying a quad or a razor or something so that I can still get out and have some fun but my hope is that they wont be as hard on my back because I will have a rod and screws etc. and I feel like riding moto will be too stressful on my back.

Any thoughts on this from anyone that's ridden a quad or a razor?

Or from anyone that has had a L3 L4 L5 S1 fusion?

Quads are like fat chicks, they're fun to ride but you don't want your friends to see you doing it.Wink

I was at the track yesterday and a quad showed up, him and his girl had giant gauges in their ears. Went out on the track, muffler was completely blown out, then he went off the track and started ripping through the woods instead. I don't think he did more than 5 laps the whole time he was there.

Was at a indoor track up here last yr, 1 quad showed up so naturally they get their own private practice session. He leaves half way through the day and when we tell the guy running practice he runs around the facility looking for him, comes back and throws the quad sign off the practice schedule board halfway across the building and everyone cheers. True story.

Even though a few of my friends ride them and I don't have a problem with them, they are still "retard chariots!"

Any excuse to watch this video.
...I doubt this guy is still alive.

That was only about a minute of his life. It's been 9 years since that video was uploaded....

I have none of the experience you're looking for but I've often wondered about racing razors once I decide it's time to hang up the boots. My only hang up is that there aren't MANY places that you can go ride them unless you have a good bit of land. Plus they're super expensive to keep up relative to a dirt bike.

Sorry to hear about your back. Sucks to be forced to quit something you love. I could just never get used to a quad though. Haven't spent much time on them, but it's just super awkward after being able to ride a dirt bike.

Fair play to you man, I have done it 4 times on a solo, those sidecars look another level by far! The passengers spend more time digging out than on the sidecar.

muGz is guilty....I did it once...ONCE!! This was back in 2004. Nearly broke my back multiple times from over jumping stuff, but still took 2nd in the "Quad A" class at this particular local race and came home just shy of $200 richer. Ohhh the things you do when you're "young and dumb"...lol. Woohoo Woohoo Woohoo

Well no shit. Look at the quad you were racing.

That's like saying you're gonna go out and shred a motocross track on a stock Yamaha XT350.

Should have been on something more like this:
