Who hasn't excelled in both disciplines?

I don't get all the Straight Rhythm and MEC hate. Would you guys rather there be no event at all and have 0 exposure of our small sport?

People always say "The event is just made for TV, it's not even real racing." I don't think anyone is really going to disagree, but why is that a bad thing? It's an exciting event for not only the fans, but the riders and sponsors alike. The more exposure/publicity/events our sport has, the better. More entertainment for the fans and more possible paychecks for the riders. Win-Win.

See this is something I could see Red Bull sinking their teeth into considering Monster is all over the other major series and Des Nations (except the nationals obviously)

maybe just two rounds (for starters) one in US one in Europe, massive money up for grabs

come on Red Bull pleeeease I'll be your best friend

I love it all. If I had to throw one out it'd be straight rhythm but if the riders are racing dirt bikes I'm not complaining as long as it doesn't interrupt the SX/MX season.

As far as SX vs MX, I like them both. They emphasize two different skill sets but it's amazing that the results seem to be pretty similar for the top guys.

And that's why I refuse to believe that if guys like AC222 and JH84 would want to do SX they couldn't be top notch. Although many here say they can't.

Incredible talent riding a dirt bike and hard work would make a proper SX rider.

JH said in an interview last month he isn't going to the US anymore btw.

I can understand your reaction. I would have the same reaction if my native riders would get humiliated time after time at MXoN by a sandbagging prick.

Against my better judgement, I'll bite your bait.

When have the U.S. riders ever been "humiliated" at the MXdN? Losing to a very fast European country (or a fast European rider) on their home soil at a one-off race nearly 6 weeks after our series ends is hardly humiliating. Any chance you watched the GP of Glen Helen where an American rider who struggles to consistently make the podium in the Nationals dismantled the MX2 class?

What's more telling is that Herlings would let his ego get in the way of making the transition to American MX/SX and the guarantee of a higher salary.

And the sandbagging comment... You can't deny that Herlings proved after the 2013 season that he should have moved up, and yet here we are, nearly 3 years later and he STILL hasn't made the transition because GL changed the rules to allow him to stay down.

You know what? My only point is that Juss, me and many on this board (possibly you too) essentially want the same: JH to compete against the worlds best in MXGP (or AMA 450-class for that matter).

The difference between me and generally US-based MX-enthousiasts is that I approach the kid with respect and others don't. Cut the guy some slack, he will eventually compete in a 450-class. I sense that the pessimists have the same "eagerness" (for the lack of a better word) to see how he stacks up against the big boys, we see a sneak peak every now and then at MXoN and European Nationals.

American mx and sx and the guarantee of a higher salary?

really? pretty sure Jeffrey will be earning ALOT of money from red bull and factory ktm, ever thought that maybe he just doesn't want to live in America? likes doing what he's doing? personally I think he would have gone to mx1, if it wasn't for all the serious injuries he's had the last 2 years. Then again, would ktm have let him? why have 2 top riders in mx1 when you can have one in mx1 and one in mx2? if he moves up next year, he will still probably have another 8-10 years in mx1.

with southwick back on the calendar this year, really hope he does a wildcard entry in either class! would be cool to see him race there

Great to see JS7 back, I hope he runs with the best!

Didn't want this thread to turn into a JH84 pro/con one but I just had to react to Juss' fine contribution....

Can't wait for MEC. (But SR will be fun too.)

As much as I want to agree with StartedTooLate's proclamations in the previous JS thread, that Stew'll still have these guys' numbers like he did in 2014, I'm not oversure that'll be the case.

Dungey and Roczen are the most serious threats to Stewart for the title at the moment. (Or, rather, Roczen and Stewart are the most serious threats to Dungey for the title.) We'll have to wait till the Cup to see if there are any more (Tomac, Barcia and Reed are next in line, I think, then Seely, Anderson, MM, and Trey. Anyone missing?)

Or else we find out that due to missing a year Stewart is off the pace by 2 sec. a lap o__o

Like I said, waiting is not something I can do.
