Nice work, that's a great looking 85! That's a whole lot of bike for an 8 year old. If he can handle it, that's awesome!

It's a new 2013 model and I put all the 15 plastics on it and converted it back 2 a small wheel.
He can touch the ground with 1 foot so he should be alright.

Nice work! Looks awesome. Have I not been paying attention to 85's or is that a big bike shroud and front fender?

That looks awesome. I wish Yamaha would get the memo about putting a shroud on both sides though. I think that is the same gas tank that was on my 1998 Yz 80.

Looks great, you should tell him he needs to clean your shop for all the work you did for him!

trumps anything I ever received as an 8yr old, by a mile...plus he has a pretty sweet name to boot. Cool

Looks great !!!
When my oldest son zac was too big for his 85, I got him a 250f and he could touch the ground with 1 foot.
So the 2nd time he was riding it I went inside our toy hauler for a minute and he decided to come in the pits. Next thing I know I hear a big bang and the trailer shakes!! I go running outside and him and his bike are leaning akwardly against the side of the trailer...
I pull the bike up so he can get out and he says he tried to stop and forgot how tall the bike was and when he stopped and couldn't reach the ground he panicked and hit the throttle right into the side of the trailer.. crazy kids!!!
Keep a eye on your young one, things happen fast...

My boy hated his 65 after his first taste of an 85, so we've moved on to them. He is 8 years old also, handles it just fine. Had yz 85's, but he likes the Kawasaki better. Here's some pics on his old one 2009, and a pic of him on his brand new 2015.
