Those two GP races should definitely help him at the negotiations table come 450 contract time. Wonder if DeCoster goes after him at some point, I can see them gelling...

yep, talking down the road, he has proven ahead of time how he will perform on a 450 on a world stage...that's huge!

Yes , 2016 is MX2. But these rides over the past couple weeks did nothing but help him in negotiations for 2017. Seriously , the kid has a couple weeks on the bike and the rides he put in at GH and MXoN's...pretty freakin' incredible. And he'll do nothing but improve.

His stock is soaring. It was a wise move, really, since he had little to lose if he did poorly but so much to gain by riding like he did. He is in the top bin when it's time to move up.

didnt he mention somewhere prior to the MXON that he felt the 450 suited him better as the 250 ?? if you look at him , just his 2 nd race on that big bike and he was chasing Febvre on his hometrack .... Think it would be good to see him against Dungey,Roczen,Barcia etc

Damn it Machine you stole my thunder...lol. I was going to start a thread last week after the USGP saying I wish I could buy Cooper Webb Stock. The kid is very likely going to be one of the next big superstars of the sport imho. I hope Yamaha does everything they can to retain him for many years.

Decoster and orange crew was already one of the interested parties for 2017 and beyond, before MXdN. Wink

Like the guy or not he has a bright future ahead of him, up there every race and doesn't seem to get hurt all that often he's going to be hard to beat next year

Saw Cooper ride the CRF 150 however many years ago that was, and been a fan since. Would love to see Honda scoop him up in 17'

I thought that was the reason Yamaha was bringing in Chad Reed to get he 450 team all setup and ready over the next 2 years so they have a spot waiting when these guys move up.......

Championships or not, I'd pick Webb over Martin for a 450 ride in 17.

For Some odd reason I thought this was going to be a Dumbgeob Caliber Thread about Coops bike being more "Stock" than "_____________ Factory Premier Riders Bike."

Must be Tired. Long weekend and longer Monday. Need to get back on that "Stock" sleeping schedule. I can't run as hot and wide open as some of your "Factory" level thread originators, league of extraordinary commenters, and Internet MX gods on here.

But You haven't seen Martin on a 450 yet...

Whose to say that Martin woukdnt of finished like webb if he were on the 450?!

Maybe it speaks to the effect of the 250 class being more difficult and having greater depth to the field and more competition. Look at the recent results of Marvin, Jesse, and Webb as a changing of the guards.

What impressed me the most is that he is very smooth on the 450. It doesn't look like he is going that fast. He makes it look effortless!
