Per Matthes/Pulpmx "I'm actually shocked at how little USA media people are here...I'm basically the only non-photographer & there r only 3 photogs at that".

No wonder the US does not get this event very often. Nobody gives a shit.

Absolutely. 1 journalist and 3 photographers? This event rivals Buds Creek 2007 in attendance and pageantry. The "fuck it lets stay home if we are not favorite to win" shit gets old in regards to the us media.

dont get it , USA has always been a favorite to win the MXON so why the lack of media coverage ???
... maybe its because of the social media today ? a lot of news and pictures are copied and used by different media these days so maybe its easier to stay informed without going over ??

We have a Dutch photographer there. He's the same one who provided coverage from quite a few GPs throughout the year.

I'm working on captions for the photos he sent earlier, which are up in the photo section.

I don't pick and choose which events to go to based on whether I think we'll win or not. I pick or choose to go based on budget.

Next year we are going to start up a "Send Guy B to the Des Nations" kickstarter site. Smile

The race will be covered on everyones web sites and every mag. You want them to just send more journalists over there so you can feel better?

I'm usually glued to the Internet on MXDN weekend...this year I couldn't care less. I actually forgot it was this weekend until I logged on here a few minutes ago.

Maybe a lot of Americans just don't care about it any more?

Say what you want about Matthes (Im a big fan but others are not) but I think he deserves a lot of credit for spending his own dime to go to all of these races. You can say well it's his job but I'm sure he could still do a podcast without going to so many races but he spends his own money because as he says you just don't get as much inside info watching at home as he can mingle in the pits and get the different scoops.

Kardy introduced me to Jeffrey on Friday and it was very nice meeting him. Much better when a face to face encounter is the medium for personal communications.

Are you sure he's there on his own dime? He is tweeting and covering for Racer X.

The thing about generalizing comments like yours is they're generally wrong.

Personally I am pumped not to see a particular "journalist" here. In DCs case however I wish he was here to bench race.
