awesome news. i went to almost every US Open back in the day but this will be my first Monster Cup, looking forward to watching all the racing especially the Supermini class Wink

Since the race if I understand it correctly is not governed by the AMA production rules wouldn't it be cool if you were able to take out the 2017 crf450 and tested in a real world SX style racing environment?

Good to see him doing this race. He should do very well I would think . What is his SX experience ? edit: No I didn't remember that. Hope he does well.

2010.

He entered the first 3 rounds and scored 15/12/6. The results weren't THAT impressive but his fast improvement was fairly significant.

he is, they're excited for the opportunity. he's been doing some supercross testing and looks awesome from the videos i've seen... i don't have a stamp but if i did, i would stamp Pierce Brown as the Monster Cup supermini champ

That's awesome. I'm glad he's making the trek over to compete. I think he finishes right around 10th. Which would be fantastic.

This is great news! If true dude has very big stones, he is fast as shit, had our favorite Russian #777 on his ass all year in the GP's, and is willing to make the jump. I dig it WFO "Viva le France"

I think he'll do real well and probably surprise some people? If a foreigner is gonna excel at SX, and history has anything to say about it, it'll be a Frenchman. Seriously though, his 250 sx venture went pretty damn good! More interest, competition and participation is always good....keeps the "asterisk police" at bay..

Saw the dude ride the Lommel GP about a month ago, where American MXDN teams go to die! he did not win, but he never shut the throttle off. Good enough for me, welcome

My thoughts exactly. With his BMX background and rapid improvements I was extremely surprised we never seen him give America a go full time.


I know Monster Cup is supposed to be a hybrid track but I would like to see it lean a little more towards motocross. There's 17 rounds of SX already, and if they designed a TRUE sx/mx track we would see more Europeans race it. Hell you might even get that bearded guy from New Zealand to enter. Just my opinion, and personally I love seeing guys from other series crossover when schedules allow for it.

Since the Cup track doesn't have a normal Whoop section it seems like a great track for any MXGP regular.

Good point...those are definitely a difference maker. The rest should suit him well with his BMX background i would think.

I think he'll smash the opinion of many who believe that the Europeans can't compete with Americans on a SX track. I agree with Paul333 that the Cup track doesn't have the same kind of whoop sections that most SX tracks have, and that alone it might really help Paulin...but he'll still have to bring it.

I talked to him the other night, and he wants to do it. He's also looking at knee surgery shortly after the MXoN.
