What's on your moto bucket list?

Edited Date/Time 9/14/2015 4:15am
I've decided I need a bucket list for different events, tracks and moto related things I need to do, and I'm going to try to knock them off at least 1 every other year.

Riding a fully paved motocross track on a supermoto is definitely going on my list:

http://lanesplitter.jalopnik.com/this-fully-paved-supermoto-track-is-the-track-of-your-d-1729315392?rev=1441982452119

Other items:

- Take an adventure bike trip through Colorado with pops
- Go watch an MXGP race in either Valkenswaard or Lommel
- Enter an extreme enduro like Erzberg
- Wales to Italy on a BMW 1200

What else needs to go on my list?

Go riding with my pops again, he is pushing 60 now. He was the one that got me into racing when I was in the third grade and he would always ride with me. I used to get so mad when I was a kid and we would go trail riding and didn't race that weekend but he loved riding in the woods. We have a parcel of land about 180 acres in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and he would absolutely destroy me in the woods. We just got back into riding/racing now that I am back in college, he is an aerospace engineer so he is already geeked about tearing the bike apart and doing all the mechanical stuff. I'm really hoping he gets the itch to get back on a bike soon and this time I won't complain about the trails, hopefully he is old enough that I can keep up now.

TriRacer27, if you are looking for some good endure type of stuff Northern Mi, has some really fun places to check out if you know how to get on to the parcels of land and don't mind roughing it out in a cabin for a few days.

I also did a mountain bike trip this summer in WV, around Davis (formerly the place of the Blackwater 100 GNCC) and I would love to take an off road bike out there sometime.

That might be the beginning and the end of your bucket list....

I had some experiences at Red Bud on 85's and in Schoolboy, that I look back on and wonder why I am still here. Still the best track on the planet IMO

anyone who hasn't done it yet needs to do a big Baja ride. i just got back from the Baja on my 3rd ride down there, this one was a big beach ride and about 500 miles. last year is was a rip from Tecate to LaPaz...

if you ride, you need to make a point to do an extended trip through the Baja, nothing like it anywhere on earth.

i've been very fortunate to get to do some amazing things on a dirt-bike that i never thought possible. i've ridden 1400 miles with 6 other badass dudes down the length of the Baja. i've lined up on a starting gate with McGrath. last week i rode about 40 miles of the Baja 1000 course side by side with Scott Myers and Shane Esposito, both Baja legends. it's amazing that 20 years ago when i was a little squid, i never would have imagined what i would accomplish down the road.

my moto bucket-list:
Colorado adventure ride
Colorado trail ride
Washington to Alaska adventure ride
Tour of Utah and Tour of Idaho adventure rides

Riding amateur days at all the Nationals or at least sneaking onto the tracks after a National (or MXdN).
I've been doing this already over the years.
Really gives an appreciation for the Pros!

Hit LaRocco's Leap.
How cool would that be? Not watch somebody pull the trigger but to do it yourself.....that would be the deal right there!

I've always thought it would be cool to do a summer long road trip following the outdoor series, à la David Bulmer's "A Year in MX". No idea how I'd pay for it though!

I would also love to ride some of the national tracks - Red Bud, Budds Creek and Indiana seem to be something special!

I'm on the Leap bandwagon here. I've seen a few of my friends do it (one on a 250f on amateur day this year...) and they say it's just 3rd gear all you have from the corner. I'd also love to go freeriding in the hills of SoCal or ride the trails in Colorado in the mountains.

Hit all the jumps at our local supercross practice track (one more to go) and I always wanted to go to A Day in the Dirt. I'm also preparating for a run at the +30 class at LL's in two years.

1. Win a race in something besides beginner class.
2. Ride the Oregon dunes. I grew up in Coos Bay, but didn't start riding until I moved away.
I hope to accomplish both of these soon.
3. Ride Socal (ocotillo, reche, etc.)
4. Race an endurocross.
5. Learn to whip consistently off many kinds of jumps.

I'll give you a shout.

I rode it once in 1977. A friend recruited me to co-ride his RM-125A model. We rode 30 minutes each, treating it like 30 minute motos. We lead the 125 class for five and half hours. I had the last half hour and with about 25 minutes to the end, the rear wheel came apart. You know the old saying: "It only pays to lead the last lap". We were pushing a dead bike back to the truck on the last lap.

I used to ride scrambles at Jeeps every winter in the late 70's. I loved riding there. I hope to be down this February.

I want to go to a race in the former Soviet Union ... when I was a kid I lived 10 miles from a SAC (Beale) base and was always waiting for that instant flash of light and heat from the bomb ... kinda sad living each day thinking about that. But we did..... so to be able to go to that former country and ride a dirt bike would be beyond comprehension.
