My dad.

Since my dad isn't available, I think someone with a lot of technical knowledge & insight would be cool since that's usually what my friends and I chat about between motos. That could be someone like Roger, Rich Taylor, Dubach, Keefer, or anyone else who loves the technical side of the sport.

My dad took me to my first race when I was 15 years old. I crashed 2nd moto and got back up to finish 4th. On the way out of the park he said "...we're never doing this again." He kept that promise and didn't want to watch me get hurt. If he were still around, I think I could talk him into watching a race or two these days.
Same sentiment; but, my Gran'Pa...

I always remember him standing in the doorway of the motorhome with his Bell Helmets english driving cap & a can of Oly at Baylands or Marysville reminding me...

"This is suppose to be fun. Keep it fun."

Thanks for the reminder...

I wish either of my three little boys had an interest in moto, "dad change the channel that's boring"

My Grandfather if he were still alive. He grew up in Holland and had one of the first Harley Davidsons ever sent there. I wish I had a nickel for every time I heard the story about wet cobblestones and scaring horses out of their minds. I think he'd be really impressed with MX.

At St. Louis Supercross this year Georgia sat by us in Industry seating and was the nicest person ever! She held my 3 year old son, who we were still potty training at the time throughout the heats and semis and just played with him.

At one point her lap got warm and in her British accent she said "I think he may have peed on me!" When it turns out that he hadn't she still said "it would have been ok if he had".

Made my sons day and every time she was on the TV this summer at the nationals my son would go "look Daddy there's Georgia!"

When I was a kid, my dad would take us to the Supercross in the King Dome and those Mickey Thompson races too. I had a 3-wheeler as a little guy and I wasn't into watching the bikes. At age 8, I got a YZ80 and learned to ride it. The bikes became a lot more interesting in subsequent years...

If they aren't riding bikes, it's hard for them to relate to the sport. Some kids just never become addicted like we are.

DV, just because I think he'd be funny and have some good insight. And tell me I suck and should pull off and drink beers instead

Oh goodie an, (Sing along) "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth...." thread!

A: Every elected politico within my local voting region, appointed commissioner, and the gov. staff to come to a race (Any televised race) with all their kids as the guests of every OEM and after-market public relations head (No booth warmers!) so they can learn what they're talking about. Including the daily media that's assigned to cover events. With Steve Giberson to take photos.

~Or~

B: Super Hunky at some old pharts reunion or a bath tub race.

Shocking!

I would have to say bubba as well though. With TP and K-dub in a close second.

Bad Brad Lackey. 1st American World Champion. He was THE American pioneer as far as taking on the Euros at their own game. Moved to Europe to pursue the championship, stayed there 10 YEARS to get the job done. Raced w/Roger,Heikki,Weil, Staten, Destefano,Semics,Wolsink, all the early greats. You know he's got a semi fulla great stories from the Golden Era......(I can't BELIEVE I'n the 1st to pick Lackey)

Matthes. You'd probably get to hang with all the above at some point by spending a whole race day with him and hes's pretty insightful.
