Only $10 for all 2026 SX, MX, and SMX series.
A healthy AC222, and on form Nagl and definitely fit JH84 could definitely run up front with your top guys.
Over a whole AMA season? Yeah sure, RD would probably come out on top, but I am damn sure the GP riders would take a few overalls along the way.
MXDN perhaps isn't the fairest example, but it's the only one we got, and as far as pace goes, the top GP riders are usually pretty on par with your guys.
All of the top guys in the sport are pretty damn handy on a dirtbike, and they all have their strengths and weaknesses. Let's see how some U.S guys do at USGP...
this thread was so good and respectful from both sides , until you came along with youre load of BS ........

It is exactly the same thing as what American's thought when RV went over isn't it? Lots of people thought he was just going to kill everyone over there. The roles are reversed when one of the fast GP guys come over here.
I've got a ton of respect for all those top GP guys. And what I said was perfectly true , as we have had multiple world champs come over here and run the whole series. Some do good , some don't.
Oh and Jose , you can go suck a big fat one.
...but to win a MX moto or overall , Herlings ,Cairoli are most def capable of doing that anyday , anytime ...
We still have guys that are every bit as fast outdoors as anyone in the world. we have more guys racing the Nationals that would be competitive in the GP's than the GP's have that would be competitive in SX. The move of American dirt bike racing to SX is just a microcosm of our society.
This is what you said ,
there isn't a GP guy on this planet that would run with guys like RD , RV ( before he retired ) , Tomac , Stewart , Canard , ect here.
Really , C,mon now do you honestly think any of the current top GP riders would not be able to run the pace in the US , guys like Cairoli , Desalle , Nagl would have no trouble in being right on the front running pace .
Desalle has already been over and went 2 , 2 , in a one off ride , so if that’s not running the pace then fuck knows what is ?
What about that other GP rider who came across , whats his name ? Oh yeah Ken Roczen , he didn,t have much trouble in getting up to speed did he ? , Just remind me again who your current 450 champ is ?
We go over there and make a race out of it. Those guys come here and race our best , you are fucking insane if you think they could run with the top guys here.
OK , lets have a look at the 2 last guys to swap over on each side ,
RV, s first GP effort was 9 , 8 , but Shaun Simpsons first AMA effort was 4 , 8 , that tells me all I really need to know , and that’s without going into the other circumstances , that makes Shauns result even more outstanding than Ryans . I think Shaun made more of a race of it than RV , don't you ? And the least said about Mike Alessi,s efforts in his GP rides this year the better !
Look at how many multiple world champs came here and got their ass's handed to them over the past 30yrs.
OK , lets do that shall we ,
Roczen , Pourcel , Musquin , Tortelli , Bayle , Pichon , Dobb , Rattray , Townley just to name a couple , have all switched from the GP series to ride the AMA nationals , and guess what ? All of those guys have won !!
Now how could that have happened if no GP guy can ever run the same pace as the leading US riders ?
but in the US as a privateer you can make a living. sorta. you can at least make money on a weekend if you do well enough.
And to people who point to Simpsons 4th as an indicator of where AC222 would finish he went 4-8. a 4TH and an 8TH. for 4th overall. ive seen people win overalls with a 1-9. in fact i saw one race where stewart finished 7th OA because of a 1-dnf. overalls are misleading to actual performance because its based on point not positions
But I remember this one time back in the early we sent a B team and they did pretty well, maybe not being the favorite isn't such a bad thing.
Pit Row
My vote is to make SX more like MX in a stadium with one EnduroX obstacle at select rounds instead of the aerial show we have today.
I am a rider not a pilot.
So the rest are working day jobs? Sorry I was not aware of that.
I do have a bunch of respect for the GP guys , always have. But what I'm trying to say is people are trying to skew the debate here. Using Simpson and his 4th place is a little out there , because he placed higher than what his lap times showed in the race. I think he had around 8th. Some fast guys went down in the first moto which screwed their O/A. That is NOT slamming Simpson , that is fact right?
OK , with that being said , we have a healthy RD and Barcia out there , an injured Roczen , Canard just coming off the bench and a bunch of guys that got wadded up in the first turn. Simpson's lap times were great and what he did was badass for sure , but you have to remember that We have guys that are out like Tomac , RV just retired , Stewart sitting on the bench , ect.
The pure speed of Tomac winning by 1:31 is something most people don't get. That's ahead of RD , who was 30 sec ahead of 3rd. The same RD that put Simpson down by 1 min.
With all the top " AMA national riders " ( American's and former GP riders ) healthy, I'm saying the GP guys would for a fact struggle here. I don't see any of them beating a healthy Tomac , RD , Roczen , Barcia , Stewart , Canard , ect here , on home soil unless one of them goes down.
I also don't see one of the guys I mentioned above beating top GP guys like AC , Nagl , Desalle , ect on some of their GP tracks either. Could an AMA rider get a GP win , for sure. Could a GP rider get a win here , for sure. But it isn't going to happen to often right off the bat .
I'm actually agreeing with some of you guys and you keep arguing with me.
Good point, burn... I'm guessing it's just you and me.

You are going to fill us in on this stuff right? I mean you obviously know so much more about this sport than DC or anyone else on this board. I for one can't wait. History in the making here I think right?
Can you give us a short list on what you don't like? Instead of crying about it , spit it out.
