I was wondering if anybody on here has a way to deal with sore hands after riding the track. I go out and do a couple laps and come back to the truck and my hands hurt really bad I was told my grips did not have enough cushion but could that really make a difference?

Rub ice on your hands and fore arm to loosen your arms up.

Do you ride with a death grip? If you do, stop.

Grips make a huge difference. There's no way I could use waffles, my hands would be destroyed. I use the Renthal light gray/soft no waffle and now I might get a small blister after a really long day of riding in heat.

Also, if your pecker ever gets sore refer to the above video for guidance.

I just switched out my grips and gloves this past weekend and that made a noticeable difference for me. But I also found that the more relaxed and comfortable I am the less my hands and arms hurt

This! I have low blood flow in my hands so they cramp up and hurt after riding. The ice helps a lot. To solve the problem, I would try and grip more with your knees. If that is not the case, try switching grips/handlebars.

BOOM!

Get over the front of the bike during acceleration and get on the balls of your feet...squeeze the tank/frame/shrouds (depending on bike) with your legs & see if you can actually "release your grip on the bars". Yes, you still have to twist the throttle; but, can you do it with a relaxed grip on the bike?

Yep. Pick a marker on the track, when you come upon it use it for a reminder to relax your grip.

I don't use tie wire or glue on mine, can slip them off anytime. Hold on too tight and you're on your ass.

Leg days at the gym helped my hand pain. Squats, deadlifts and kettlebell swings all strengthen your lower body and teach your body to rely on the quads, hams and core when you're riding. The bar improves grip strength as an added bonus.
