Open A and +25A in moto going to run 250 A on a two smoke for the first time in a while.

Open A in the woods...but haven't raced them since 2010 or so.

I race maybe 4 times a year anymore, don't have the ambition to try and hang with the fast guys anymore.

Bro! Do you even race?

Last race was in 2013 with a hard fought battle to 2nd overall in the 30+B class! The guy who beat me raced A class then came back after a couple years off to whoop me up. (Thats my excuse for not winning Bro) so, yeah, I don't even race.

I hear you! I am out with a broken talus as well! I am 10 weeks in after they did surgery and outfitted me with 2 plates, 8 screws and some pins. I hope to be out of the boot and putting some weight on it in 2 more weeks.

I wish you the best of luck and hopefully yours wasn't too severe but I know its not an injury that anyone wants to have and one of the worst bones you can break. I hijacked this rock climbing thread but its a good read if you have time - https://www.mountainproject.com/v/shattered-talus-report--analysis/1073…

1973 thru most of the 1980's, I just turned age 55, Would of won a few more races early on if a guy by the name of Tom
Carson "Asterisk Medical" wasn't born... Got moved to "A class" 1977... Got hurt trying to make a national in the 1980's, cracked vertebrae in my back... Not fast enough, Tired of getting hurt "riding over my head"...

I personally race Pro/AA on the east coast and Sportsman A in the GNCC's. I'm pretty washed up but did well back in the day.

What class do you race or do you even race?
You probably race against an old friend. Jaco Walmorans ring a bell?
Sure do! He was number like 626 on a KTM? He stayed at Vance Earls back in the day and I used to ride with him and Kenny Gilbert. Im not sure what ever happened to him. Probably washed up like me.

I race but not as much as I used to since I moved. Just turned 59 and my next race will probably be January 16th at REM. Last two times I've raced at REM I've not been 100 percent so am looking for to the 16th to race without a broken rib or a hernia. I am a junior/novice rider but when I've had my mojo activated by racing regularly will race intermediate.

EDIT: I am not proud of it but I don't even lift bro.

Yea, the son of a bitch stole my number early in childhood.

Did you see the start of the first GNCC of the year in 2014, in Ocala? The big mudder? The factory KTM guys wrecked on the start straight.

They wrecked on Jaco's back tire hahaha

You're still going strong! I have two little ones at home, 3 and 1 year olds. I much rather do family stuff than disappear to the track all day on the weekend. Maybe when my son wants to ride, I'll get back into it.

I definitely enjoy lifting now. 1.5 hours at the gym during my lunch break is possible for me, so I'm all into the fitness deal. Nutrition, and training.

I used to race 125B and 125 jr classes in the late 90s. Since I didn't touch a bike for 15 years now I ride slow old man Vet Sport class when I race which is about 3 or 4 times a year. Practice days are where I do most my riding

I grew up racing off-road; moto came into the mix from 125s on.

I now race just a few times a year and off-road stuff only. 35+ A. Montana has some great off-road events, Idaho City Six Days Qualifier is a great one, etc. My local off-road events here are desert; I've never *really* enjoyed the desert racing. Woods is a great time, but wide-open in rocks & dust, not so much.

In 08, I shattered by right ankle and broke my tib/fib. 18 screws and two plates hold it all together now. This injury to my left ankle has put a lot of pressure on the right and it is beginning to cause problems. Good luck to you.

Jaco is racing in FL. He was putting on some GP type races two years ago, but it was hard to draw from the FTR series.

50+ vet in MX on a 2005 CR500 home built conversion.
First race was in 2010 at 47 years old. I rode in high school but parents wouldn't let me race (we raced snowmobiles instead--I got hurt on them also. Go figure...). I'm slow, but currently leading the Arkansas State MX Series due to showing up at every round! Probably won't ever get any faster. Recovering (but still competing) from a broken tailbone and whiplash when the throttle stuck wide open in early June.

45+ Expert, 50 Plus next year. Mostly organized practices, and a couple of races each year at tracks that have good soil, a decent turnout and nice weather. Definitely the 5th Annual Sleepy Hollow Two-Stroke Shootout in Pennsylvania, Masters MX Series and the High Point Vet National !!!!!

Sounds very similar to a guy that used to come out to NC and ride some named Caleb Leath. He was out of Texas, a member of Team Green and had a lot of good finishes at Ponca/Lorettas. What ever happened to that guy?? At first I thought it might be you, but I believe he was done before 2001.
