The days of annual new model year releases is over for MX bikes. For some models its been over for a while anyway but this is a whole new level.
The new business model is "model designation". The reality of the way that the japanese manufacture models via "production runs" and extremely slow sales is going to eliminate annual product releases. Plan for new models releases only as existing offerings sell out. Don't expect a new RMZ or CRF until all the current models are gone and demand warrants the production run. Just because its a new year don't expect new bikes or even BNG. They'll only be building more when we buy the ones they have.
When the factory can make more from a $3500 scooter than $7500 dirt bike.... let's just say the future isn't exactly bright.

I love going to open practice days at the local tracks, It is so rewarding to pass guys on bikes with exhaust systems that cost almost as much as my whole bike

I've never seen it.

My last Vet B race at Budds, the winner was on a YZ125, I finished second on an 05 Rm250, and the guy in third was on a 2007 CRF450.
Randall Everett recently smoked the Pro Sport class at Budds on his dad's YZ250 smoker against some crazy fast kids.
There are about 2000 motorcycles listed.........imagine all the repose these days.
I bought a 2007 KXF450 for $1800 last month. A 2007 Aprilia sxv w/ 18 miles also last month.
$8000 for a new bike is too much.
I used to work at a dealership thats why I don't waste the extra $$$ on new because it is just that ....a waste
