See link above. Looking to pick up an RM125 and found this one. I appreciate the work that probably went into this build but think its probably a little overpriced. What do you think a fair price is?

$1500, saying that I've offered a couple of guys 1500 for 2005 RM125 but they won't come down. I'm in no hurry so they can keep them...If you really want it $1800 if it's in good shape and everything checks out as advertised.

Prices seem to vary a lot from state to state over there. Especially with the older 2T's.

A bike is worth as much as you're willing to pay for it IMO.

The 2004 is good, but the 2005 is so much better.

This is true.

Mainly updated suspension, (last suspension updates were on the 05), and exhaust valve/top end porting. i.e KTM, YZ porting.

Agreed I feel like $1,600 is fair and that what I am willing to pay. He came down to $1,800 but im not motivated at that price.

I would go for the 1800 looks clean and a 144 kit is nice as well.

If all bearings especially swing arm are good and nothing feel loose that might be the one.

But its hard from distance to do the judgment.
I usually buy "project" bikes but this one is nice.

It's a little high...but you've got to start somewhere because no matter what guy's will always try to beat you down a few hundred bucks.

I've bought 3 06 RM 125's since 07 and the prices seem to actually be going up if they are clean.

In 07 I paid 2000 for one and then I bought one in 2014 with no time on it for 2400.

I'd say it's worth 1800 in good shape and ready to ride.

Or you can think you're getting a deal on a crapped out one for 1400 bucks and then spend 500 bucks replacing all the bearings and seals, going through the suspension and top end and who knows what else.

This^

Not sure about the 125's, but, for a good one, the 250's are getting higher in price over here as well.

They put a lot into that bike, seems like it won't need anything. I agree $1500 is the number but I can see why he's holding at $1800.

Yes they are. I bought a new 06 rm 250 and could not sell it in 07....finally gave it away for around 1900.

5 years later I paid 3000 for another 06 rm 250 with about 4 hours on it

As time goes on its getting harder to find clean last model rms. I wish Suzuki would just start making them!

The plot thickens. I found a clean 2007 that I can get for 1,500 or......a 2003 that needs a little work for $900.

Get the 2007. The 2003 doesn't come close to the latter bikes.

Sell a RM 250 Smoker to give a rider a choice? Why would they want to do something like that? It Could hurt RM 250f sales?

Is this the same company that Roger Decoster "Rumored", had to hide the New Transporter from the
Japan "Big Wigs", when they came to visit?

Looks like the seller knows how to work on & take care of bikes. I probably would have gave him 2k for it... But I have
no dependents either... 1800 bones? Hell yeah...

Yeah I've got 4 dependents. I am trying to get my 10 year old into riding and recently bought him a KLX110. Im looking for something to ride with him.
Plus I have a car addiction. Currently working on modding my 550i M sport....twin turbo 4.4 V8 putting down ~460 hp and 530 ft lbs of torque

Be careful with modern bimmers, they can be quite the money pit. I'm an ex BMW enthusiast myself. I was always into 3-series as I like smaller cars with the nimbleness in the corners but my whole family has had many. BMW has lost their damn mind. When they put golf cart mode (auto start/stop) on the M3 and fake engine noises through the speakers in the M5 a few years ago, that was the beginning of the now end of my BMW love. The death of the M3 coupe and the changing of the 3-series power plant was the final nail in the coffin for me. I sold my last one - 03 M3 and never looked back. My old man still has a 750 and my mom has a pretty cool looking X3 with just an M package.

Under warranty until 100k miles or 2020. Just need to remove tune before taking it in for service to preserve the warranty.

So one last question.
I've got tentative deals with two people. Which would you buy? A loaded 2004 that's been completely rebuilt with aftermarket parts for 1,600 or a 2007 that's clean but stock for 1,400?

Any reason why? I was actually leaning the other way since I know the 2004 has been completely rebuilt.

125s are gaining fad popularity. If the fad ends quickly I can get back to finding screaming deals on the 125s!!!!

They're defintely price inflating due to popularity and super low cost of ownership that is still competitive when racing.
