Mike Alessi to Race this weekend

Edited Date/Time 7/28/2015 7:48am
So I should say, I'm NOT a hater on Alessi. I'm still confused he's not a title threat after that year he was leading the series, but then yard saled himself and the field ran over him . . . LITERALLY. I don't recall the year.

Anyway, he's racing this weekend. My guess is 13-DNS. What do you guys think he'll do?

And please, no need to bag on the guy. Trust me, I'm the 1st to bag on him, but it's been done. It's not entertaining anymore. I'm just curious what everyone thinks he'll do this weekend. Give me your scores.

Lol your prediction for him (to me) is bagging. I guess I hold more value then that out of my brother. I'm hoping to see two good starts and for him to push it wherever he's at the first 20 minutes. He needs to know if he gets a good start and runs the pace for the first half of the race everyone will start situating themselves where they are. He just has to believe in himself to keep pushing the first 20 minutes cause after that it's smooth sailing to the finish. He can do good if he doesn't get frustrated in the beginning. Everyone's gonna be pushing those first 4-5 laps n that's where he gets a little overwhelmed.

He showed amazing speed in a couple motos up north last year, so he has the speed to run top 5.... But my guess is 18-15

I know it's motocross, I know it's two motos. If he were to back out of the second moto due to physical issues a 25-30 and a DNS would be more realistic. Not close to a top 10. Alessi would fade quicker than Peick, no way he stays in the top 20 if he's injured.

I'm pulling for Alessi. Nice to see him back at the ama nats. Would like to see two top 10s but it's unrealistic with his sternum injury and lack of racing.

I'd hope he does well but he looked sketchy on the track during press day judging by the helmet cam. However that track looked boo boo. If he gets the starts I know he is capable of, I would say top 12 could be stamped.

How did you come to the conclusion for a DNS for the second moto? Or a you just being an Alessi hater?

A DNF I can understand in predictions but a DNS????

Jeff,

You know your brother so I'm hoping you're right. I would like to see him do well. As many jokes and haters their are out there for Mike, when it comes to MX, he was pretty good.. Since he's been out of the U.S. scene for so long, however, I do question his speed.

Well, like I said, I'd love to be wrong on this one. I look forward to seeing him race.

2 x Hole shots. I'll think he'll dig deep for his fans and supporters and go 10/10.

Anyone who comes back after a crash like the one you mentioned deserves Respect. IMO, the Man has balls of Steel.

Would you feel better at a foreign track you don't really know, or at one of your favourite tracks you've always had good results on?

Com'on. Have a bit of a think about it mate. Until then, best you wipe your ass, you're dribbling.

I just watched the old video of him and his pro debut. Pretty amazing to watch a little kid out there mixing it up with the best of the of the 450 class at the time. Even more amazing he podiumed his second shot at it.

Anyhow, was cool to see that and reminded me how much talent and raw speed he has. Hope he does well at shoug.

I hope he does good and has fun. My wife has been a fan of his for a long time, every year I go to GH and 2 or 3 SX rounds, and every year she says bring me an Alessi shirt or an Alessi sticker or an Alessi anything. And every year I tell her the same thing. No such animal Unsure Laughing Anyway hope he does good and leaves Stoked

his laptimes in timed practice should tell it all where his speed is. the rest depends on how he feels. it would be good to see him back in the mix again though

Don't know if It'll "tell it all". Adrenalin is way under rated Wink .

Mike will finish anywhere from 10-15, the 450 class is stacked, there's Dungey, Roczen, Barcia, Peick, Anderson, Baggett, Tickle, Noren, Nicoletti, Pourcel, Grant, Chisholm, etc... I just don't see Mike finishing in front of any of those guys. Good luck to him though
