team france aren't looking too bad...

febvre (leading mx1 champs)
paulin (3rd in mx1 champs)
musquin (2nd in ama champs)

that's assuming they pick that team... that's the one i'd pick if it was up to me!!

suppose they always have tixier, ferrandis and pourcel that they could pick too!

is roczen definitely not racing the mxdn? and nagl definitely still out then? I would think cairoli would be back by then?

lets not forget Belgium either- strijbos is in brilliant form at the minute, desalle is back this week, van hoerbeek is looking good lately...

I think Roczen is racing the MXdN, Vuillemin said on the pulp show a few weeks back that Kenny Watson from RCH had asked him to go over with them and show them a few spots to ride the week before. I don't know about Nagl, but he is apparently going to be back racing pretty soon so you would think he would be at the MXoN. Cairoli could take a while to heal up, he's got a few broken bones in that arm so it might be more than a couple of weeks, it could also be pretty quick. He's got 2 months to recover though so hopefully he should be okay

Nagl and Desalle both back at GP in Loket ... Herlings maybe .... soo i think at the end of season most euro riders will be fit again and ready for MXDN

But France and Belgium have a very strong team as always ...

This, Blake has proven to be consistent all year, that's what we need at the MXDN. I can't believe they'd pick Trey after one race.

Baggett doesn't exactly have the best MXoN record though

He didn't have the best performance the few times he was at MXoN, but I think his results would be ALOT better on a 450 in MX3.
That being said I really think they should go with Webb even if he's on a 250 in MX3. He would do just as good as Trey and way better than BB4 or Anderson.

I don't know what Decoster has planned, but all I know is this: We better send two 250 riders, and they better both "sack up".

O.K., Haven't seen any mention of this, but is it written that in the MX3 "open" class that you have to ride a 450. Could Webb ride his 250. Is the track in France (I think that's where the MXoN is this year) more suited to a 250 or 450. We all know that the 250's run competative lap times with the 450's sooooooooo, just a thought.

It'd also be good bragging rights for Webb too to beat a bunch of 450's.

Open is open, pretty sure a 250F is fine.
But there are some bad hp-robbing hills at Ernée...

The lap time argument unfortunately has a major hole in it.

The start.

Yeah unless you're Ryan Villopoto at Budds Creek it's a bad idea.

Agreed. Start is hugely important at Ernee, its not that wide and pretty difficult to pass. There are places to make passes, but coming from outside the top 20 to the front is gonna be really tough no matter who you are. The last time they had a GP there the 450's were a couple of seconds faster anyway. so its a non-starter really. Especially when Webb is good enough to ride a 450. Although i'd take him on a 250 with Canard and Barcia

Other than "he's funny" what reason does anyone have to choose Webb instead of Martin?

Stewart, 250 2 stroke MX1
Steinke, 125 2 stroke MX2
Pastrana, 500 2 stroke MX3

Would be sweet to see team USA bring them smokers back!

If we were going to send a two stroke team, I assume we would still want to try and win... our best four stroke team would still be our best two stroke team.

True , still not the norm though . 2 450s is the way to go regardless of who's riding imo.

Barcia, Baggett and Martin

Martin was right on the pace until he hurt his foot last year and Baggett won't have a repeat of past MXdN,he's older and more experienced, matured and will want to make amends too

France imo would be best with Febvre,Tixier and Paulin,Musquin would be too much of a risk while Tixier has been really fast a lot of this year, races in Europe and was overlooked last year

There are probably too many injuries for anyone else to contest the win unfortunately unless Nagl and Desalle come back flying

I think Martin was a little off last year even before he hurt his foot, and that was at a track where he should've felt right at home. In my opinion they should go with Webb, he's already back on race and overall winning speed after a month and a bit out, and he's absolutely desperate to represent the USA.

I think if you asked the other teams which rider they would rather line up against between Webb and Martin, the majority would say Martin

I would think Webb would be a better pick than baggett and Anderson if Canard isn't up to speed yet.

Only a few riders have an absolute will to win.....Webb does....he would leave his heart on that track if called upon.

Team France is looking extremely strong. Strong team and a home track- I wouldn't be at all surprised if they make it two in a row. Really thought Paulin was going to be stronger this year, though.

We shall see.

Yes and martin has been kicking his ass all year long, even with leaving his heart in the track. Martin, barcia, canard is the best.

If you don't pick your personal favorites that will be the best team.

Will DeCoster actually send a team without a KTM? Really the only options would be Jessy Nelson, Justin Brayton or Andrew Short. So I wouldn't imagine be would send them.

With that I'd say it'll be Barcia, Dungey and Martin. I don't care what Dungey says, he's racing.
