Langston is great to listen to. Adds a shit ton of color to the broadcast.

You can listen to any race and pick apart mistakes someone makes in the booth. Geez.

Ralph had improved greatly over the years plus Emig did a great job IMO.

Great seeing Weege making it up another rung of the ladder.

Correct. He lived right here in Cary NC. Dads still here as sales GM at local shop. Got me a ktm 150. Now he has moved to somewhere in the area of Michigan.

According to Jason Weigandt, Larocco's leap is "the biggest jump in all of motocross."
Is that true ?

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Broc has never lived in Michigan. He moved from Cary to Southern California when he turned pro with Star Yamaha and has been there ever since. Maybe spends some time there with his wife's family on breaks.

It did make me laugh hearing Grant refer to him as a Redbud local.

4th overall last weekend, a seasons best for Broc!

The repeat of the word "gaggle" this season is gettin pretty high

you know who makes me cringe? Paul Malin and Wheeler. Malin literally disagrees with every single thing that comes out of Wheeler's mouth, as if by instinct. I don't even need to cite an example, it's every single time Wheeler speaks. I feel like Wheeler probably wants to cave Malin's teeth in after each broadcast, and I don't blame him. Super unprofessional. I CANT be the only one who notices this.

I like his references to the mainstream media, it's actually gold Grinning "His going timber!"

I love Langston and Weege. Love their insight, Weege has all his inside knowledge of the sport. I can't stand Emig and Ralph. I respect that they have a tough job, but damn do your homework and research. I pick out their mistakes constantly.

I hate this! And Malin always sounds so smug!

I really dislike Malin in the booth. Although I do find it hilarious when he misjudges the timing of the start gate and has to fill the empty space with faff. "And the gate's about to drop any second now which it will do right about any second now and it does!" Comedy gold.

You have color guys who are good at being humorous and guys who are good at being analytical...........................Grant Langston is good at both, which is a rare commodity.

Can we please put all this Langston bashing to bed? According to some like the OP, because GL said Broc Tickle is from Michigan, he's some kinda dumb ass? I think Langston would know a little bit more about this stuff than you guys might. And it sounds like Broc does a lot more than visit his wife's family in Michigan on holiday or breaks, like ALL his stuff is there, it's where he's based out of. Here it is straight from Broc's mouth on Matthes's Pro Circuit Red Budd MX Podcast:

Steve: (talking about how he thought Broc would have fastest practice time and shredded out there).....people forget your actually from Michigan, kinda

Broc: yeah, kind of, my wife's family's from here so I have all my stuff based out of here, my business and stuff and whatnot....

I think a lot of it comes down to what style you like (obviously). The National coverage tends to be a bit louder, with a few more superlatives. I do find that Grant will suddenly sometimes take on both commentary roles at once; crossing out of the technical analysis and drifting into the play-by-play announcing side of things. I quite like Weege but struggle to like Langston. I can't quite pin down why, I mean the guy certainly knows his stuff and to be fair he has some good moments.

My favourites are Malin and Wheeler. I like the more relaxed chatty style they both have and on a technical level Paul is very good. You'll also often pick up interesting bits of information beyond the official releases from both Adam and Paul, gathered up via drifting around the pits and talking to key people off the record etc. Whereas with the National crew it tend to be a lot more superficial e.g so and so's really working hard and now it's starting to pay off... I agree that you do sometimes get disagreements between Paul and Adam, but then on the other hand you know that what you're hearing is probably what they really think. I have no problem with it personally.

I like both Weege and Langston in the booth. So he mixed something up. I do it daily and I'm not on live TV.
To be honest as long as we get same day and live coverage I could care less who is in the booth.

I too like Langston and Weege. Georgia is good too but I feel for the poor winners who don't get a chance to spit or wipe their faces before getting mic shoved in their mouth! They gotta have time for all the commercial breaks, I understand.

For the record, I love Langston and Weege.

Im sure Langston knows more about this motocross stuff than me, but Im pretty sure he doesn't know more about Broc. Im pretty sure most of his "stuff" is at his house in SOCAL, the one he lives in.

But I still love GL and Weege!

Not ridiculing the quoted statement but other than the owner of this thread the majority here supports Langston. Glad to see some sanity here...

Weege and Langston are great in my opinion. You can definitely tell they're friends, but they don't bust each other's balls like Emig, Ralph and RC - which can get a bit awkward sometimes.

For a little perspective, watch the 2014 Red Bull Rampage on YouTube. Minus Sal, those guys are horrible. Cam Zink rode into the finish area after his second run with his rear tire, literally, falling off the rim, and these two kept saying they had no idea why his run wasn't as strong as his first.

Many people posting from emotion and opinion, ZERO posting with experience behind a live tv microphone. Want better commentary? Apply yourself, quit your (less than $20 per hour) job and prove that these professionals aren't worthy of their jobs and that you can make it look just that easy. Or.... Sit down and shut the fuck up already.
