Which one will switch teams or brands first. I can't see them both staying together as their careers progress but they both seem to gel with the Yamahas.

If i had to pick one, Martin, but it's a bit of a toss up. They could both end up on a different color or they could stay on the same color for different teams, nothing is in concrete yet.

I agree, but I hope we're wrong. I can actually see Cooper changing first. Just my opinion, but he grew upon Honda's and I can see him returning at some point.

Also, the yz250 and 450 are not really the same bike. The 450 definitely has a couple more "quirks" compared to the 250 that have to be sorted out. Jgr bike seems ok but you can't really tell with barcia since his bike never looks very good due to his style.

It will be interesting to see how chad does next year, yami hasn't had a top 3 450 rider on form in sx since they changed the frame drastically.

Martin will end up on Carmichael's team and replace Roczen eventually. He's only been practicing and hanging with Ricky since he was racing Loretta's. It's inevitable.

I wonder how often Webb and Martin are allowed to ride the 450 for practice. Most all of the riders that JGR has signed have been riding other bike brands in the 450 class already. I'm wondering if the riders get their feet wet on the 450 and get used to it from day 1, if it's a more manageable transition. It has been said they handle differently from other bikes. We interpret that as a bad thing but maybe it's the transition that is more difficult than actually riding the thing.

It sure seems like Yamaha is trying to do anything in their power to keep these two guys. It could be a bad deal if they lose one. If I'm Martin or Webb, I'm gauging their effort in my decision. Dollars get you so far, but I think they really want a championship again.

Webb has done some random overseas supercrosses and mec twice I think on a 450.

Webb rode the 450 as an amateur.

Please detail all these quirks and how JGR has sorted them out. Most guys that actually own and ride YZF450's love them. They are also the best selling 450 4stroke sold in the U.S. right now. At the pro level, it's mostly the rider that makes the difference and people who think otherwise are clueless. If it's all the bike, then you should ride nothing but blue as they have won the last two MX nationals as well as the last 4 MXGP's.

They will ride where the money train leads them. That's almost always the ultimate deciding factor.

At the same time, coop was also pretty close with the JGR group throughout amateurs so that could sway his opinion some.

I've ridden both the bikes in stock form, I've also ridden modified versions of both bikes. EVERY bike has its quirks, some are easier to resolve then others.

I'm confused, are you a pro level rider? The people that "own and ride yz450s that love them" are they pro level riders? It is a great motorcycle of course for the 99 percent, but until you are going pro level speed on pro level roughness track or a pro level supercross track you will never understand how a motorcycle truly performs when pushed to the limit.

If the rumors about CR22 switching to Factory Yamaha are true, I've been wondering if starting up a Factory Yamaha team is to prepare for the future. I think Martin and Webb have one more year on 250's for SX (Martin MIGHT have more?). Is Yamaha trying to keep both boys on blue on 450's, but different teams?

I don't see that unless his supercross results go up.

I just wonder how you know the JGR bike seems ok. Ok compared to what? If you work for JGR or KYB I understand and sorry for the question. Maybe you have ridden the bike and know firsthand.

Martin grew up in Yellow, so I'd figure he's planning on joining RCH.

This would be the least surprising for me. This thought actually popped into my head while watching Red Bud and I figure RC will try to mentor J Mart as much as he can.

Webb rode the 450 last year at the japan nationals. He was killing it, when i talked to him he said the bike was great, just had to get used to the power.

Hope they both stay yamaha. Who knows.

Is it? I thought Honda had a huge lead in the sales department.

I'd keep Webb even though I root for Jmart. Webb I'd a savage is SX and SX pays the bills.

Webb will go to JGR and Martin will go to Yamahas new factory tesm.
