And Cody Gragg on a YZ250, his last lap was a good one and he quali'd 24th overall.

From no 2 strokes for a couple years...to 3 in today's event...

I know that this is the bike that Marsh races every week in both the 250 & 450 classes, in the NESC series. He'll be at Unadilla and maybe more. He's attempted to qualify at a few events over the last couple years but I don't recall him being that close. Congratulations Travis.

Did you see Chris is qualified in 30-something now? I don't remember exactly where. His ninth overall didn't stand. Must have missed a corner or something. Oh well, sounded great while it lasted.

Mud is a great equalizer. I wonder if the results would have been the same without the mud? I'd love to see more two strokes making it to the mains. The two stroke era of works bikes were the best of our sport.

He would have had to have run a 2:20, for 9th. If it wasn't for the mud factor I would think it highly unlikely, but crazier things have happened. I was watching his times throughout qualifying but that one snuck by me. It must have been on lap 8 (of 9)...that time is dashed out in his lap scores. Looks like there were a few issues with the timing today...understandable with the circumstances. He's still racing with a stock engine...correct?

Hope your recovery is coming along well.

Yeah. As far as I know he hasn't had any motor work done. Still riding stock. And I agree about the mud being the wild card. It really is a great equalizer. Hopefully he does well.

Recovery is still going. I transitioned from PT at home to out patient which has been good. It's different going there. It's a sense of purpose. My new PT is good too. He didn't waste any time going after the range of motion. The first session had me hurting so bad since they really pulled on the knee to create space and increase movement. Now that I've settled in there, I'll be going five days a week. I guess it's a benefit of being completely out of work that rehab is my schedule and job for now. I was at the doc on Wednesday afternoon. He took some new x-Rays and is happy with how everything looks. The bone is growing back which is good, it's just a lot of repair my body is doing. Especially on the wide break half way up the leg. It has me so I still can't bear weight for another six weeks still, but I am allowed to do the seated elliptical at PT. I can't do a full revolution, but going back and forth as far as I can stretches the knee and my ankle since with the fixator and such I lost a good bit of motion out of that as well (and previous injury rearing its head again). The other order I got was that I can get in the pool and hot tub. So I've gotten in there a few times this week. I do leg lifts and hip circles to get my abducters as adducters working again. I also have splints that I wear a couple hours a day each that gently stretch the knee in flexion and extension, and also my ankle up. They're torture devices but they help limit the loss between PT sessions.

So...frustrated I can't start bearing weight yet. But I'm progressing. I just want to go back to work and to ride again. Life at least is slowly feeling more "normal."

This is what the extension splint looks like...

I've found the end of TV, the Internet, books and video games. But all in all I'm managing and my therapist and doc feel I will be successful in returning to work and my life. Work was a huge relief since in the beginning there was some doubt if I would be able to. Had a heart to heart with the doc about how it's what I had to do and that I'd do the work needed and got everyone on the same page. Lucky to have a good support system of family, friends and providers.

It's funny you asked about my injury, I've been thinking lately I should write an update.

hes a talking piece for the corporate side of the business and is completely out of touch with the average motocross rider/racer

when he actually tode (late 80s and 90s) the sport was still affordable and not a rich mans game like it is today

he doesnt ride or have a family so he thinks its still 1991

Matthes consistently says that 2 strokes are great for the average rider. He just does not understand why anyone would line up at a pro race and put themselves at a disadvantage.

So, Travis ended up 34-23 for the day? Decent results for a first time making the cut. Wonder if he's headed to RedBud?

Gragg & Marsh are both on the entry list. I don't think Marsh would have entered if he hadn't made the cut at Budds. 88 total entries in the 450 class and 87 in 250...both are highest number of entries this season.
