Hi Jimmy,

From your perspective, when looking through the pro pits at any given national this summer, who has the best team dynamics when it comes to rider/team interaction and overall mesh? Why? Thanks!

Jimmy, if you could pick one National track on the current schedule to be in your backyard as your "personal playground", which would it be?

Keep up the good work man!

Jimmy! Thanks for being here and taking the time to answer questions. Really really cool of ya!

I've got a couple questions for you, you can pick which ones you want to answer.

1) What is your most memorable race?

2) If you could be sponsored by anyone (other than ARMA of course), who would you want?

3) Where did you get those sick American flag boots?

4) What would you like to do post motocross? Race something else, be a commentator, continue as a team owner?

5) We just saw Chad Reed change his mind about being a team owner/rider. What is that like? I know it's more work but in what ways is it better or more rewarding than just being a rider? Do you like it more than being a rider, or would you rather be able to just ride and not have to deal with all of the team development and management stress?

6) What's your take on the rider safety issue? Both you and Trey have been on the wrong side of that a few times, so would you say the sport is too dangerous? If so, what kind of changes would you like to see?

7) Most importantly, when are you gonna sign Ronnie Mac to the ARMA team? Tell him you will just put ARMA stickers on his PBR cans.
1 most memorable race would have to be valkensward gp 2010, I went 8-8 that day but the second Moto I only finish 25 seconds of the leader. It was my first real sand race aswell

2 Walmart would be the sickest sponsor

3. I got the flag boots from a local farm store in good ole Shawnee ok

4.i love the commentating... I hope to do that someday... Owning a team takes years off your life

5. for sure, owning a team is hard work but I just believe chad over extended himself... Either way he did a hell of a job while it lasted.

6 Dirt works = worst track builder ever! Get dream tracks and problem solved

7. Ronnie's not "corporate material" sooooo.... No

hi Jimmy
i would like to ask about your shoulder problems, what exactly did you have for a diagnosis, and what repairs were made?
do you expect to be back to 100 percent?
were you problems from seperations or dislocations
i ask this because i have had many shoulder problems, seperations, and broken collar bones, but i have had only one dislocation, and they had to put me to sleep to get it back in, i see you at the races saying your shoulder popped out and u got it back in and tried to ride, either im a pussy or your just a tough bastard, its been 13 yrs since my rotator cuff surgery but it still hurts quite a bit every day, hopefully there is better technology they used on your current repairs
also some people probably dont know how much a shoulder dislocation hurts, i have had dislocated, elbow, dislocated hip, and broken pelvis, by far the shoulder hurt the worst
i guess i would like to know the run down on what you got done, and will it affect the air wheelies?
I had two labrums that were non-repairable so they did a bone block surgey to keep my shoulders in socket on both sides. My right shoulder had three rotator cuff tears and a tear in my clavicle tendon.

My shoulders feel better then they have in the last 5 years! Quit being a pussy and make sure you work your ass off in PT to get where you want to be. Sitting and wishing for something to get better with your thumb in your ass isn't very effective... Trust me, I've tried it.

First of all Jimmy thank you for doing the q and a session. My question to you as a full on privateer for the outdoors. You read and hear guys looking for help and say they can't make a living racing outdoors. How much does it cost per week to enter a race and pit passes along that all goes with it like hotel and fuel ?

That being said how much can a privateer earn at a race for say like 12th to 20th place ? And how much can he earn in contingency for the same placing that weekend ?
You can but you have to work the sponsors hard! If you get twelfth you are looking at about $1500 bucks if you are on a brand that is paying good contingency... So if you have no money paying sponsors then you are losing money haha

I've been riding for about 2 weeks now and I feel the best I have in five years with my shoulders! Still a long ways to go to get my shoulders back to 100 % but I would definitely love to race the last round in Indiana and the U.S. gp.
Sounds good...you'll prob be back before Millsaps...thanks Jimmy.

Thanks for doing a Q&A session. I have to say it's pretty awesome that you and your wife get to travel together and enjoy the country. There's so many families that are split in location because of racing. So good for you for being a family man while "living the dream."

It seems that there's a ton of talk about how the riders should be paid more, especially here on vital. What do you think is a fair payout for the riders (for example should the 40th place guy at a national be earning $50,000/year?) and what do you think it will take to get there?

Hi Jimmy.

I'll keep it brief.

Everyone has that "one day"; the day where everything clicks and it seems like you are riding in slow motion while you throw down the fastest laps of your life.

When was your "one day"?
Mantova star cross in Italy . In the braket racing I had to race desalle, Cairoli, roman, and Musquin in them and it was easy. I don't know how to explain it

Jimmy, how did you and Trey become such great friends? Did you meet while turning pro and develop a friendship that way, or do you two have history as friends growing up together in Shawnee? It seems like you both are close and chill outside of the races often.

Reading through 2 pages of questions makes me feel like I'm watching my nephew with all the questions. Super cool for riders to participate in a Q and A thread.

What's the single most rewarding thing or specific event that you have been honored to do in your life as a direct result of your success in mx? I'm thinking in terms of helping others, visiting a children's hospital and seeing their excitement, etc.

PS - this is awesome and thanks for signing up to voluntarily spend some time with us Vitards!

Has Georgia ever interviewed that goon, Ronnie Mac? and had she not married you, would she have ever considered dating him?

Probably how every weekend there are so many kids that look up to me like I once looked up to all the pro motocrossers when I was their age
