Are you asking if a KTM is dependable? There is no reason you shouldn't be able to get 25 hours on a piston and 150 on a bottom end.

I had 2 Yamaha 250 2stroke and had nothing but problems out of them.
Just wanting other peoples opinions on a KTM.

25 is on the very low end, most can get away with 40-50 hrs fine.

Mine has been great so far but don't have a ton of hours on it.

I had an 09 yz and it was great overall but I shattered trans gears approximately 70-80 hours in.

Got a 15 250sx and love it. Just need to get my forks set up better since they are a little harsh. All I have done to mine so far is rejet and it puts a smile on my face every ride!

I bought a 14 used a few months back and after getting the jetting figured out the bike has been rock solid. Only had it a few months though so can't speak to longevity yet, but the bike is very well built and runs great.

I have the 2015 SX 250 had 13 450 and 14 350 , I love the bike so light handling is very very good and love the way it makes power , I will be getting another one for sure .
On sat I was out riding and guy turned up with his 2015 YZ 250 I rode them back to back , for all the hype I read about the Yamaha I was very very disappointed the clutch was horrible brakes very average it didn't turn as good as the KTM suspension was good but no better than the KTM power was ok off the bottom but it flattered out really quick , it would want to be at least 50%cheaper than the KTM before I would even think about buying one

I've had lots of 250sx Ktms. I never had a problem, awesome bike after the jetting is fixed. But you should start working out now because compared to a 250f its going to be a handful.

What kind of problems?

The motors are bomb proof.

So far I'm digging my 15 so far!

Threw in the digger jetting spec, did a few bling things, a vforce 4, and finally got my bills pipe (have yet to ride with the pipe).. Also changed gearing to a 14x50 which did broaden it up nicely. Ripped 2 monster holeshots against 450s the last race. Suspension is next. It's rough for sure (and soft at 220).. My only beef is I've ridden it three times and I already have a spoke missing off the rear. And yes, I check them every ride..

Also what frame guard is that? My stock one leaves black scuffs all over my new white sidisSad . Ahhaha even though it comes off I like that guard

Very nice bike!
I think KTMs just have bad spokes I check mine after every ride on my 250f.
What kinda deal did you get on it? I found a couple places that are selling them between 6000-6500

Necj Suzuki needle on 3rd clip with a 40 and 175.. Made her nice and crisp. I do think I'm going to try at least 50/50 or straight 110.. 927 at 32:1..

The frame guards are acerbis.

Got a killer deal on it at AES Ktm in new Philadelphia, Ohio.. Great guys to work with..

After suspension I may do a60s and better spokes, then the 300 kit..

I've got a 14 250 sx, traded my 13 sxf450 in for it back it November and not once have I regretted it. so much more fun to ride than a 4 stroke.
I've put a ktm factory (doma) front pipe with pro circuit 304 silencer, sorted jetting, 9oz flywheel weight and had suspension revalved. these bikes seriously rip,I can pull holeshot most races against mostly 450's, And turn inside them like I'm on a bmx. Only place I struggle against them is in deep mud, they track so much better with all that torque.

I have about 30 on my 14 tc250 and no plans for a top end yet.

Have any of you guys run a 39mm carb of the earlier 125's? I put one a KX250 some years back and it took some hit away but gave it more up top which it lacked stock and was way better for off road

Apart from needing the forks revalved, it handles great. As far as price I paid 7k otd but could have paid 6600 if I were willing to drive 4 hrs to another dealer. The deals can be found.

Great bikes love mine. Fork even valved right has a dead feeling to me. I swapped to KYB SSS fork and its just no comparison.

I'm curious on what his YZ problems were.

I like it, I'm running the 38mm carb, PC exhaust with full length silencer and an updated vforce4
