In need of a bike stand that has the a foot pedal that you push down on to raise your bike.
If anyone in Orange County has a used one for a little cash or trade, let me know.

I love the hell out of HF and probably spend $500-$1000 a year there. It's not Craftsman or Snap On but for things you use a couple of times they are awesome. But that the main selling point is that it's "welded steel" is classic.

I've bought some casters from HF but that's probably all I'd ever buy from there. The least costly option at Home Depot usually isn't much more expensive than HF and 10X the quality.

Guys walking around in there for hours, dreaming of owning everything, sniffing the tools, trying them on.... :0)

We purchase buffers and spray guns there, get the one year warranties and just keep switching them out. Best warranty in the tool market

But what if you only need junk? I try not to have HF as the go to place but sometimes you just need something cheap because you're only going to use it once a year or something like that. I do really like their little blue led light pods (which Home Depot now sells exact same thing in orange) that I get for free.

The best tool I ever bought from harbour freight was brake line pliers. You'll never work on brake lines again with out them once you use them once.

I never buy tools from there but I do get tires. 5 bucks for a tire, wheel and tube..hell you can't beat that.

Tires for small carts that is. Made a cart for my welder, Powerwasher ect.. I even put tires on the big swinging gate to help prolong the hinges.

Never buy their 10 roll electric tape...it's junk

the foot pedal stand from h/f really sucks. it wont lift ur bike and the pedal is very " janky" i just use the regular steel stand from them on my 250f and use the foot pedal one for my ttr125 pit/play bike b/c it wont lift ur bike hardly at all. if you want one that lifts, get one with hydro assist...lil more $$$ but better quality

ditto on the electrical tape. it is worthless. the multi oscillating tool is junk too. But, I still go there when I need something and fo the most part, have come ahead in the long run

I needed to make a hole in a block wall,called the local tool rental and they wanted $60.00 for the day,I went HF and bought one for $30.00 did the job just fine,I will probably never use it again.So HF is good for stuff like that, If you are going to use a tool a lot then spend the $ and get a better quality tool.

I have a 1/2 mixing drill I bought back in 1999. Mixed 100's of buckets of concrete till 2006 then it's sat but I use it a couple times a year. I just mixed 50 gallons of bentonite for my pond and it's still mixing along. If the tools is gonna break it will happen under the warrantee from my experience.

OP - I have a Trackside pedal/lift stand I got on sale from Cycle Gear a while back (I think they're $35 right now). But like others have said, you get what you pay for. The pedal sucks and It doesn't lift jack squat.

I did buy the stand from HF but had to do a few modifications. I would not recommend buying one unless you have the right tools and some spare time. The price I paid for mine was $25.91 with tax.



Here are some pics of the modifications, and without doing these, the stand was junk. What I mean by that is you would barely put any force on the top and it would go down. It just wouldn't lock in place and I didn't want to be messing around with the pin they supplied while trying to line up the holes. With the modifications I did, I stood on top and jumped up and down and it's solid now with no pin.

I have three of the stands and I had problems with one of them just like you did. The other two "cammed over" and stayed up quite well. What I like compared to other lever stands is when you trip the down lever it comes up to the bottom of your foot letting it down in a more controlled manner rather than it just dropping. I put my lever in a press and bent it into a little more of a u-shape and fixed it, but the other two were good to go as delivered and I never use the pin.

lol good stuff, my dad used to say if ya cant start it or put it on a stand , dont ride it, or go to gym or get a smaller bike, haha
