GNCC, for me easily snowshoe. Was a couple years back and I fell at least twice in one trip down it. It was real narrow, steep, and soft. Only downhill I have dreaded every lap.

I'm sure it's the same one I'm thinking of but it was brand new that year. I went down it on a utility quad on Wednesday and almost rolled from it pitching me sideways. Did it again the first time I went down it Thursday, then after that I figured out a good line down it.

Then that Friday I went down it on a bike doing a helmet cam lap for RacerTV, it pitched me sideways and I highsided into a tree. Good times!

I got my revenge on it though. Barry Hawk and I were at Snowshoe a few weeks ago getting a head start on the layout for this year's track. We actually went UP that hill on utility quads. Not going to lie, it was a bit sketchy!
Man no way you would see me going up it! That hill was pretty wicked.

The big down hill on the Hollister hills GP track that they ran in the 80's was pretty bad ass. I wish I had a picture.

The old school downhill they ran at the GP at Hollister Hills was gnarly.

Mammoth's downhill is brutal also. Honey lake used to have a tough up hill and down hill.

Like someone already mentioned, Yamaha hill at Glen Helen was nuts.

*edit...Machine you beat me to it.

I did find something. Iceman, at the 1:00 mark, is that the downhill?..If it is, the camera angle doesn't do it justice.

Here's one that Scottie posted.

That looks steep but if you tilt your head and flatten the angle it looks not so bad. Maybe it's because I frequently ride gnarly trails...

Ah yeah I see what you are saying. Seems a bit more reasonable, It's like an optical illusion when you go back and forth. Still though...

I'm not doubting the gnarly-ness on an old school bike between the suspension and the brakes it was probably pretty hairy.

What makes GH so nasty is it is slightly off camber at the bottom going into the turn. I've run it several times. Banzai was steep but not as long as GH plus there was a run out at the bottom if you survived the g-out. I don't think Carlsbad was the same kind of rough as GH. I ran Carlsbad with drum brakes and I think GH is still the toughest.

Screw u at dilla, evansville mx in pa, irish valley was steep at one point too..
That evansville downhill was insane! I remember back in the late '80's a guy swapped off the top of that thing and we were shut down until they fished him out of the woods and heli had to fly in and take him to the hospital. I would love to see some pics of that.

Thats it!

I got to ride that section at a GFI race back in the day. They ran it on saturday for the intermediates and pro's. They didn't let us race it on sunday! It was gnarly and they couldn't really groom it so it got slick and super dusty.

OMC in Boise has a very very steep and sandy downhill on its summer track, but is only open for pros, if I remember correctly. It's not very long but it gets nasty and most average riders wouldn't even be able to make it down without crashing. I wish I could find a picture.
Yup that thing gets nasty,

there is a shot of the bottom half of it in this at around the 30 second mark. I grew up and raced at OMC my whole motocross life. In all my years up there racing off that and watching over the years no one went down it as fast as Hannah in '83 or '84. Hicks was close those years too. Denny Stephenson came off fast for a while on Jacksons 125 in '97 but it bit him and I had to take him to the ER that same day.
The winter side was nearly as gnarly..

That's not from the true top. That line on the far left was the escape route from the true top when all else failed.. You would have to click 5th gear sometimes 6th on a 125 when you went out on that far left line.. so sketchy...

Back in 2000 or 2001 James Stewart passed me on his supermini down that hill, WFO!!!

The dude was going so much faster and all I could think about is this kid is going to kill people on a 125.

Sure enough, a year or two later he did just that.

Wish someone had video or pictures of GODZILLA sandhill ranch from the 1990s. That was a crazy long and steep uphill / downhill.

Ever seen how steep the hills REALLY are at Erzberg? No thread needed

Edit: posted after reading the first few posts, didn't see those above.

Not moto, although the WORCS race here may have used this.

Its called OMG Hill in Caliente, NV. I went down it on my bike prerunning the course. No biggy.

But in a VW Class 11 Stock Bug with pre heated drum breaks it was a little unnerving the first time! For sure the steepest and roughest I have been down in a Volkswagen!

That is one gnarly downhill! The bike near the bottom looks early/mid '70s, so I'd guess it's somewhere around '74/'75.

There was a downhill, more of a ledge at the last last man standing that the top 5 or so jumped off. The other 95 of us dropped our bikes off the top, climbed down and took off... The parts of that race deep in the woods were much much gnarlier than the stuff on video that they could get cameras to.

Dave Thorpe Cingoli 1990

Unfortunately, the day Billy Liles broke his leg. He overcooked the launch and flat landed.
