Map or coolant temp sensors going out of parameter for condition can cause this. With the high temp, vibration and wet they're subjected to makes it hard on parts. They should be able to solve this with the saved data.

Go back and look at his rant, then read my reply. I don't think it was out of line.

Besides, you only saw the public/PR side of Ryan. Inside the truck? I'm sure he wasn't Superpumped.

Since I know a guy whos bike stalled going off a 95 ft triple and he was so busted up and lost a foot from this I don't know how Dungeys nerves could honestly handle staying out there. I mean he is married, is young and wanting a life after MX.
People can joke on here about this, but the worst of consequences from this if it had happened at full throttle leading to a jump face could have been devastating.
lol dramatic much?

the LAST thing ryan dungey is worried about when hes in the middle of battling with tomac in a 30+2 moto is what life will be like 5-10 years down the road if he happens to crash his bike due to mechanical issues... like are you serious??? Like I'm still mind blown that i just read something so retarded....so stupid... #DRAMA #dramaqueen

NO professional rider in their right mind is worried about consequences of crashing during a race... there is no way you're going to be competitive on ANY level if THAT'S what you're thinking of during a race....

dude If even 1% of you is thinking about the consequences of a hypothetical crash that hasn't even happened, then you dont belong on a race track. You are not built for this shit.

Ryan Dungey did not get where he is at right now in his career by being concerned and worried about crashes that haven't happened. Ryan Dungey is not a PUSSY.

Ok retards, lemme try to explain...

Ryan dungey did not stall his bike 3 fucking times by his own fault... He is a professional motocross racer, who is paid millions to race a dirtbike... He is not a fucking retard. He is arguably one of the very best riders of our time. I'll say it one more time. He is not a fucking retard, and did not stall his bike 3 times on accident. ESPECIALLY GOING DOWN HILL @ SPEED.... because even a fucking novice is smart enough to dump the clutch and fire the bike back up INSTANTLY.

Huh, guess I should sell my bikes and never ride or race again then because I am DEFINITELY NOT built for this sport. Guess all my results are meaningless to, who would have thought? I'm curious how you can explain riders saying they did not feel comfortable on a certain track so they didn't want to push it, that sounds like thinking about consequences to me.

To be clear I don't think Guy was at all out of line but he threw one down the middle so I swung at it... "rant?" well maybe that's a bit hyperbolic but it's his joint and it ain't a tea party. I was talkin' "inside the truck" anyway not badmouthin' your team in public. I'm old enough to remember when Bad Brad had a lil' bonfire in the pits with some shocks he was less-than-fond of. (pretty sure Ohlins?) I don't care how calm cool and professional you are when you lose an epic battle with your chief rival due to a mechanical it's gotta piss you off something fierce. I have nothing but respect for DeCoster/Dungey/KTM and what they've accomplished in the last five or so years. I'm just speculatin' on what exactly it takes to get the coolest cat on the gate to F*ck some shit up.....

Not sure if serious??? Tomac said it stalled on a downhill earlier too. Then it gave out at the end of the moto, giving up 2nd and dropping Dunge back to 6th. Damn nervous nelly that Dunge is! It's just like J-Law always said, Ryan was a herb, geek, and would crack under the preasure (he said something like that, I took a stab at it). Ryan Dungey, 5X National Champ, one of the most unshakeable guy's out there might stall once but 3x? Yeah youre prob right, makes sense now that I put words on paper. Pass the dunchie on the left hand side bro's

I heard the last time Ryan crashed Carlos smashed his helmet to bits with a 1/2" torque wrench as soon as it was off his head, and chased him around the semi with a tire changing stand.

First off, I don't have MavTV and didn't see the first moto. Secondly, even if I had the network, I was out on the track stalling my bike. When I made my comment, I thought he had only stalled it once, not 3 times. I didn't feel it was because he was nervous. When I saw the the replay I thought there was only one. It looked to me that he was going quite slow around a 180 and as we know, hitting the rear brake forcefully can sometimes cause a stall. Oh, I forgot, that only happens to beginners who suck. I understand how good Dungey is. Believe me, with my limited talent, I know how difficult this sport is.

While I'm certainly not an expert at this sport and maybe not as knowledgeable as many, I'll put my IQ up against your's anytime big boy. Your post really didn't offend me. It was actually amusing to a point. I've seen the overly dramatic chest beating on here quite often. This is a macho sport. I get it, but when you come on here with such shit as this, I really don't worry about who the retard is. You've already proven that. Have a good day and drink a few less energy drinks my friend.

Everyone has a right to their opinion for sure, and I hate to even go there, but yes "Massholes" does describe many from that area. Certainly not all. There are good folks everywhere, although a much lower percentage in certain areas. Let's refer back to a particular (pussy sport I realize) Ryder Cup held in Boston back in the '90's. The crowd was so beligerent to the European players and fans, I seriously doubt that iconic venue will ever be used again.

Maybe the comment made was naieve, but no reason for the retard comments is all. I feel sure he and I have knowledge of things that would cause others ignorance to seem rather stupid. If some people can't make comments here without ridiculing other members, so be it. Y'all's choice. We all however, love the sport.

Yeah, I do know that. Believe it or not, so do my friends and I, just not on an open forum I suppose. Only thing I wanted to point out is we're all fans of this great sport and we all have different knowledge levels. I have no racing experience to fall back on, but I want to learn as much as possible. I'd hate to think that only experts have the right to make comments here. Wouldn't be too many discussions.

Those big four strokes do like to flame out, at least that's what It looked like during the motos. The conditions were soft and it takes more to spool up the engine and get the bike rolling. Multiply that by all the added compression they get out of these thing and I'm sure everything needs to be spot on in order to work. I'm sure the mechanics are working on the issue. They aren't going to keep sending the rider out with an inconsistent bike. The issue could be as simple as raising the idle speed. But I'm almost certain the answer for the mechanics at factory KTM is not going to come from Vital.

Hey Joe, all of your points are well made and well taken. If unsure of what your posting about, perhaps read through the entire thread first. An expert rider, or most any rider, will have no problem restarting a stalled bike, while going downhill. In this situation the problem is clearly a mechanical one.Smile

Thanks for the advice starcrossed and I do try and read the entire post. My first post in which I agreed that maybe Dungey stalled himself was made on the first page before anyone stated he had stalled 3 or 4 times. I didn't see the moto unfortunately, so at that point I was assuming he stalled once.

I'm definitely no expert on racing techniques. Never done it. I do ride mx tracks, but as I said I'm very average. I don't get butt hurt easily believe it or not, but I guess I read so many responses on this forum that come across as completely condescending that I don't get it. I do believe however that many of these remarks are meant as humor. It is just difficult to discern when someone is being comical and when they're being an ass. When a less informed person makes an incorrect comment due to ignorance, they really seem to get torched on here. Same kinda thing with the USA versus the rest of the world banter on here. If it's done in fun, I'm all for it. Just difficult to know sometimes.

I hear you, don't let these know-it-alls chase you off, most of them never graduated from high school and are posting from their parent's basement. haha

I have other ideas about the account as well. I wonder if the Masshole ever spent time in Texas, and prefers a certain OEM?
