I was right there watching, J-Law was being a complete idiot trying to take out RV everywhere then they stopped right in front of me when this happened, I was so frustrated just watching trying to understand what the heck J-Law was thinking I can't imagine what RV was thinking, heading to Hangtown today

What was RV thinking wheeling into jlaw face? I think it's funny how everyone jumps at jlaw blaming him when in fact both riders were in wrong that day.

JLaw was the clear instigator. Wheeling the bike into JLaw's face probably didn't yield the greatest of results, but it's not like the AMA was going to do anything about it until it got out of hand like it did. Not that I really care one way or the other. I found it funny that JLaw acted oblivious about the whole thing afterwards.

Anyone remember or have a picture of the year they had this big downhill that ended with a sheer drop into the creek bed?
I remember every one stopping and looking over the edge and Magoo would just launch off it completely bottoming out, i think they ended up going around it or they may have even rerouted the track. Good Times back then!!

Took that at my first Hangtown in 76; the RC biff in 2006 30 years later. That 76 race still may have been the best I've seen (until the Honda crapped). Plymouth was the best; between it and Sears on a perfect winter day, those were two utterly primo tracks within 90 miles of one another that were completely different.

Lol. Dungey did throw their pants out of his camper. If they could have only seen that JLaw was a clown and Dungey otherwise had his shit together. Oh well. Funny how history shapes itself.

Another crazy finish was the year Bagget came from way back to pass for the lead on the last lap! Went to both of those races. Hangtown is a badass track!

I hadn't achieved sports consciousness yet in the 70's, but I can always tell when it's one of your photos from that era. I don't know what it is about your pictures, but they have a feel of their own and they are awesome. Kudos, counselor.
