Best choice for 2015 250f and why?

Hey everyone!

I'm going to be swooping up a 2015 250f here very shortly and have my sights set on a specific brand already but wanted to see what everyone's experiences were thus far with the 2015 250f's and some details as to how you have come to the opinion you have.

I went with Honda but it was strictly due to my comfort level on them compared to other bike. Honestly I really wish it had more power. but I'm a little big for a 250 at 185lbs, Nothing a pipe good fuel and a remap wont help out though. I love my bike other than that though. Thinking about orange for 16 but I've yet to ride a new FE.

We have a 2015 crf250r...my son is a 130lbs novice mxer and off road racer.....he loves it compared to the others , which he has rode, except the suzuki. The handling of the honda is what he likes when comparing the others....yes the honda is down on power but the pipe and remap wakes it up and most people do that to any bike so it's a wash really.....the air forks are so versatile it's un real....we have about 42 hours on it since new with no major issues....I think if you aren't trying to break into the Ama pro sx or mx scene then you should get the one that you want and don't look back....local dealer help , pricing etc may be something to factor in also.

2015 yzf 250 for me, I tryed all the brands apart from suzuki and thought the yamaha was the best overall package. Of course it has it's pros and cons but I seem to get on with it well. The GYTR power tuner is excellent. I have heard a few horror stories on the internet but hopefully I am safe Unsure .

Yamaha would be my top choice, followed by the either the Kawasaki or KTM. Suzuki and Honda bring up the rear for me personally.

Honestly, no bike fits everyone the same, and much like shoes it's best to try them on for size before you buy one.

15 yz 250f great suspension, reliability, personally I like the look, so easy to change the air filter, awesome power, most of all the relationship I have with the shop that I purchased it from.

CRF 250 or RMZ are the most comfortable bikes and turn great. The YZF for me felt extremely awkward when riding it. Didn't even care for the motor which all the mags rave about.

I picked up a '15 YZ250F after years on Honda 450s. I felt comfortable within 10 minutes on the Yamaha. The suspension is incredible in stock form and only needed a few clicker and fork height adjustments. The motor rips although 250's are deceiving. I was feeling like I was going wicked fast but I was quickly reminded I was on a 250 the first time I tried racing it. Doesn't matter though, I'm having an awesome time riding it.

If we were talking 450s I'd probably go back to Honda. I don't need the massive power delivery the other 450s have.

Awesome feedback you guys! I'm more interested in the handling competency and flickability of a 250f vs the power of a 450f but still would like to be able to pull well enough for a good time and jumps Smile Keep the feedback comin and once I pick mine up I'll post her here haha

I like my '15 YZ250F quite a bit. It is not the quickest handling bike, but it does turn quite well and the inline stability is better than the others I tried. The engine is very usable with good power and torque. The suspension is great and imo, there is nothing that needs to be upgraded if you don't want. With some of the other bikes, it is almost necessary to upgrade certain things imo.

I'm kinda glad this topic came up so I wasn't the one to create the thread. I want to pick up my first 4-stroke and was thinking about going 2015 250f. There are some good deals on 2014 250f's too right now. I want to absolutely buy a leftover brand new one.

If I had to order them in line of what I'd want it would be Blue, Green, Red, Yellow, Orange. Cool Blue's are expensive in my area still, so I was looking at the Kawi's.

'14 kx250f is a good bike. I like mine a lot. Handling is good, not fantastic but the motor is fantastic.

To the OP, the factory edition KTM 250f is a great bike so I expect the production '16 to be really good. I've ridden the factory edition several times and while I like the motor on my Kawi more, the KTM feels lIke it corners better.

Whichever bike suits your riding style and dealer support... for example no point in buying a bike that a magazine has the most HP when you dont get on well with the chassis or the dealer is 1000 miles away....etc etc

I really enjoy mine, although it's a '14. I came off a 280 and I don't feel like the power difference is significant. The bike feels really light. I think it is due to the displacement of weight in the center of the bike.
