He should be the number one pick if they can get him out of that Canadian contract. Reasons:

1.) 4th place in points last year. (Behind Roczen, Dungey and Canard)
2.) He rode that bike last year.
3.) They could basically mimic his settings from last year and come in prepared.
4.) He's always in shape.
5.) I like Metty Wink

Metty is a good dude and a threat to the podium in outdoors... Much more reliable than pourcel imo

From directmotocross.com, Jason sounds pretty confident hell stay up here:
Davi Millsaps Released from Monster Kawasaki…Brett Metcalfe?

OK, we’ve all read the news. However, have you given any thought to what this might mean to the Monster Thor Kawasaki team up here in Canada? We all remember the Brett Metcalfe deal from last year when he got the fill-in ride down south for Kawasaki and did very well with the opportunity – he finished 4th overall in the 450 series! Is that where we’re headed again in 2015?

I have a feeling Jason Hughes‘ phone was ringing off the hook this morning and I was actually surprised when he immediately returned my call on his way to the gym. To make a long story short, he said the Brett Metcalfe will be racing in Canada this summer. He was heading down to California later today to pick up the race motors and suspension for the team and as we hung up the phone he said, “See you in a month-and-a-half…and Brett Metcalfe will be with me!”

Metty would be an awesome pick if they can get him out of Canada. That dude deserves a ride here anyways! Why he does , is beyond me.

If I was Metty, I wouldn't be too happy being Kawi's security blanket. Any time something goes wrong for Kawi's, call Brett, when we're done with him, send him back to Canada. Oh, Davi just got fired, call Metty again, then we'll send him back to Canada again when we're done. Not a big fan of that methodology.

Amen to that. If they haven't signed him for a good ride, stop giving them rides. I would feel pretty disrespected.

I'm sure that Kawi is being fair with Metty or else he wouldn't ride for them. I don't think anybody should be complaining on Brett's behalf, especially since it's unlikely we know the terms of the deal(s). Suppose Kawi gave him a pro-rata paycheck based on what the top factory riders are getting, compensated him for all his travel and provided him with everything he required to make a successful transition and post quality results. He really doesn't qualify for a full year factory ride based on his performance in SX, so for him to be able to race on factory equipment at any time seems a good thing. Like it or not, SX is king when it comes to moto in the U.S.

I might sound crazy but taking a chance on Malcom Stewart might reap some rewards. Malcom needs to mature a little more and make smarter choices when racing. Kawa can help him with that.

I remember when Metty used to post here on Vital. He actually asked forum members if he should pick 24 or stick with 123 as a permanent number. Ah, the good ole days....
