Actually I met one of the guys from Husaberg several years ago, who is from Sweden, and worked at Husqvarna Sweden and is still with the company. BMW was making BMW's and older Cagiva's and putting Husqvarna's name on the bikes. Explain how that is more authentic than what KTM is doing.
"i met" "i know" blablbalba.
diffrence is BMW had 1 motocross/dirt bike - a husqvarna. that means, they were focusing on 1 brand only.

do you think husky CEO is happy with the way this bike was presented? why wasnt it at eicma? why isnt it raced in the SX / MXGP?

They need to upscale it compared to the KTM. Some Ohlins suspension, Lectrons on the 2 strokes, charge another $2k.
Otherwise it's just a white KTM so what's the point?

I wouldn't be surprised if we see WP air forks on the 16 Husky, just sayin'...

I would not complain about it shaves a lot of weight off the bike and iff you want you can get a air schock to go with it

either way i would love to own a new husky so i'm gonna start begin the misses :D

It's more authentic because BMW didn't take an existing bike already on the market, restyle it and call it a Husky.

Maybe KTM could buy everyone and we could get red KTM's for Honda, green KTM's for Kawi, yellow KTM's for Zuki and we could say, "But look, the clutch covers all have different logos. And the Kawi has a different set of bars." It's horsesh*t. The problem isn't that KTM is making Husky, is doing the bare minimum to a KTM to convert it to a Husky.

I rather see a white KTM out there than a red BMW.

Then put white plastic on a KTM. The Husky answers all the questions nobody asked.

Well then I guess authenticity is in the eye of the beholder. Horseshit is selling pretty well btw.

Sales figures and authenticity aren't remotely related. Husaberg sales were up 11% before they no longer existed. And those were just blue KTM's. Hell, at this point the Husky is just a blue Husaberg which is an orange KTM...talk about bastardizing a brand.

I'm not sure if you are advocating a race to the bottom or what. I'm sure Husky's would sell just as well with no unique body or subframe. I wouldn't call that a standard to follow though.

Ohlins is a Swedish company bub. Get it?

Ohlins on a Husquvarna could represents a lot of things, heritage, old world charm, factory like performance, and exclusivity. Traits that go well on a Husky nameplate and tie the bike better to it's historical roots and frankly also that the older buyers of the nameplate can afford. I love KTMs, I love Ohlins. So for me as long as a Husky was still a KTM chassis and engine that I could maintain my relationship with my current KTM dealer, I'd pay an extra $2-3K for a 'Husky' on true Ohlins suspension in a New York second. Not that BS lower grade Ohlins forks that has a history of ending up on production bikes either.

Since KTM already makes class leading, well absolutely everything else on a dirt bike besides suspension, designng a new frame or engine just to be visually different, only dilutes both brands and accomplishes nothing.

The absolute fascination with the shape of the plastic on a dirt bike around her positively befuddles me. Who gives a fuck? They all look beat after 2 rides anyways.

Nice looking scooter. Hopefully they do the blue rear fender and shrouds in 2016, then reverse the colors in 2017. It would make for an easy way to customize your 16+ Husky in any combination of blue or white. Maybe get some yellow in there too.

Pirelli has had a tire called MX32 for at least 6 years and before that they had a tire called MT32 that dates back to the early 2000s. For as much as I know, Dunlop just came out with their MX32 last year.
Well, I learned something new today. Admittedly I didn't expect it to be from VitalMX, but now I know. Smile

With a company in India as majority shareholder in KTM specializing in scooters and small street bikes it wouldn't surprise me if down the road there are no more KTM dirt bikes and Husky becomes "it".

this is a factory cable, also on the bikes of Herlings and Cairoli. Production wil be behind the bars (hate it..).
I agree. that's the one thing I don't like about my bike.
I fitted a domino cable and trottle for a 2009-13 Honda on a KTM 250f, it's a bit long but fits nice behind the front numberplate. Domino part nr. 3200.96.04-01 and 3353.03.-01. (stock honda has a lousy cable to trottle fit).

The '16 has a different trottlebody so I need to find out with Japanees part fits there, Kawi an Suzuki has the best setup.

I was told, yesterday, by a Hottie that's the Mareting Guru for Husky U.S., "That's not the '16. It's just what the GP Team is running...for now."

So, there's always that.

That looks way better, but I still think the shroud graphics should come back on to the upper number plate thingy so you can't tell it's all one piece as easily. I like what Kawi did with the shroud covering the air box, but this number plate thing is too goofy.

Offcourse it has factory team graphics, but the production bike Will look similair. The theory is that they should look somewhat the same to make ppl wanna buy them. Ktm factory edition is the same theory, just next level.

So i dont think they have a third version of plastics for this ktm Smile

You guys really think a brand new MX bike is going to just appear? They are going to need a little time to develop something totally different. And before we see the production version you know some prototype pictures are going to pop up somewhere. So until that happens I wouldn't hold my breath for something besides just diferent plastics and stuff. But I am excited to see what they come up with, I'm sure it's going to be cutting edge just to make all the Honda guys freak out and say it's stupid.

Sell the Husky at a premium but include the cone valve forks and the Traxx rear shock. Also a nifty ti bike stand would be cool.

From what I saw of Aleksandr Tonkov's new Husky on TV (Moto 2), the new look works. The bike looks very modern and up to date, whereas the 2014 and 2015 designs are not as sleek.

Hey Henk, if you figure out a throttle system, please share. I tried using an older Ktm throttle tube and even the old throttle bodie but nothing fits on the new bike...
