Err Tomac isn't doing all THAT bad this season...dude has allot of podiums in 2015.
Eli learnt a lot from his mistakes in SX this season, I expect him to be better next year no matter what bike he is on

Guess this thread has a fresh shot of credence now that there's a very sudden opening in Team Kawasaki, as of yesterday.

You're probably right. Because if RV doesn't win this thing there won't be another decent U.S. rider attempting it for decades. The shame of not beating the Europeans, for any American rider, would be career threatening.Sad

As for "bailing on SX and American MX" money talks and riders the world over go where the most is on offer, just like any other sport.

Finally, Eli's dad traveled the world with his own career, so I expect that would hold no no fear for him ( and maybe it would be an adventure he'd relish?).

Not to mention, bicycle racing is a much more intercontinental sport than MX. . .
Sorry to burst your bubble but the "Premier" MX series is travelling to more continents this year than the premier Bicycle racing series that John competed in.

Just saying.

I have a feeling Davi will get the axe. Nothing to base that on but Kawasaki can't be very pleased with his performance at the moment. There were billboards all around town advertising the SX saying "Who's Next" with a pound sign before it. It had Davi's picture on there like he could be the next winner but he's never seemed like he was a podium threat all season.

As of today your prediction was spot on... Millsaps..........gonzo.
It only made logical sense. I guess all is done except the "Tomac to Monster Kawi" press release at this point. I just hope that changing brands will help Eli's starts. Whether it's bike or rider, changing brands can change a rider's start confidence. Placebo if you will.

Does Tomac's contract expire after Supercross or after Motocross? Any chance we'll see him on a green bike this summer?

The contracts are almost always end of Sept or something like that. About a month or so after the last national. We'll see Eli on Red the whole summer. I think it'll be awesome seeing Eli on a green bike. Kawi needs a title hopeful there.

It's a damn shame but now with RV finishing up his last season Kawi has a ton of cash to throw at Eli.

I wouldn't bank on RV retiring after this season. I know he's said he was done, "no matter what" the outcome of his MXGP season results were. But I'm a betting man and think that IF he doesn't win the title this year, he'll be back to try again in 2016.
Hell, even if he wins the title, he might decide he like the free travel and do another multi-million dollar season. I guess we will all have to wait and see what happens.
As long as he is enjoying his self I agree that there is a strong possibility I mean he didn't just go over there for sight seeing he wanted the title for his trophy room believe that

I've seen quite a few posts saying they don't want to see Tomac on green but personally, I like the idea. Whether his start problems are mental or truly bike, sometimes changing to a different color will change their mentality or bike. Either way, changing bikes is all the rider can do if they just can't find a comfortable start on their current bike.

Now, that the required amount of money has been "Freed" up it's done. Unfortunate part of the sport.

Should be a great fit!

Hoping with everything I have, Tomac retires from the Big Red machine with mutiple national titles. It has been to long since Honda has dominated. We need to get back to the 80s where Honda dominated.
