I found this brochure in a box I have from 1983. I guess I was looking into this gear back then. Does anyone remember this or has anyone used this gear? Kinda funny looking back on it.

If there's a market, and people willing to buy your product, and no dominant brand/company stealing majority of market share. There's room for another competitor.

I had a KZ 1000 police bike in my shop last week. I kept humming the chips song all week. The kid that works for me kept looking at me funny

Makes me think of some of the other obscure 80s clothing brands.

Chuck Sun had a clothing line
Jimmy Weinert?
Gold Belt was making gear (I think Decoster was in their ads in the mid 80s)
Gear was semi common
EP
Tackla (Finnish company was advertising in MX mags in the mid 80s with a hot chick)
Fly..there was a French mx clothing company called Fly before the Western Powerports Fly. O'neal sold it for awhile.
Hi Point had a full line of clothing...I think they just kind of melted into Malcolm Smith and Tucker Rocky.
Miller
KSI
M Robert was like JT in Europe and someone was selling it in the US for awhile. Goat Breker wore it...I had some of their boots and they were awesome. (Not the plastic boot.....I think they were called the "Jobe" boot)

USA....I think was a cheap house brand of Chaparral for mail order. It was cheap AXO knock off stuff.

Mr Motorcycle...the tuxedo jersey's...hahaha. Never saw one in person but they had ads in the mags for years.

I ran Poncherello Moto Toggs, never knew Larry Wilcox made gear too. Who copied?
4/14/2015 5:53pm
I met Larry a few times when they filmed CHiPs at Indian Dunes and when I was lucky enough to get a part in one episode and he was a very passionate moto fan. Couldn't ride very well (they filmed a lot of the riding scenes with Ponch and John on top of a two-railed trailer) but like a lot of passionate moto fans with deep pockets, he was more than willing to lose money in the sport to be involved. Nicest guy in the world to. Being an Indian Dunes brat (they filmed every Hollywood movie and TV show that needed dirt scenes from 1965-1986 there) I was around a lot of movie and TV stars and Larry Wilcox and Eric Estrada were as cool as it gets.

Isn't it weird that weird is not spelled with an i before e either? What about either? That is e before i also. Weird with the i before e auto corrects to wired on an iPhone. Wink

I was wondering who is on the KX so I did a search and came up with the name Sheila Sieman who I assume is Super Hunkys daughter or niece as well as her Death record from 3 years later(1986). Anyone know the story?

The opening chicken truck crash scene of each episode was high quality entertainment. Cool

Yeah but nothing compares to the "giggle scene" at the end of each episode.

I still get around a semi with a weird load on the trailer fast incase it just comes loose and causes a mass chain reaction pile up... I always say "that looks like a bad Chips episode waiting to happen" Laughing
