I remember cheering for Tyla because he still was on the smoker when almost all the others were on the 250f. I remember he did fantastic with that bike. Was he maybe leading in Namur or something like that ? Was he riding that 125 when Townley became world champion ?
Anyway, doesn't really matter. All i wanted to say that i remember him as a very fast guy that even was competitive on that underpowered smoker and that it is sad to see him getting waxed every single time these days.
All this AMA vs GP thing is getting old. There are 2 big motorcross leagues in the world. The GP series (which should be called European championships in my eyes but ok) and the American Nationals. Both series are equal. There is talent on both sides of the pond. And this year it is fantastic because we have the best rider from each side of the pond racing in the same league.
Ofcourse RV has a disadvantage. He is completely out of his comfort zone. But if he looses does that mean that AC (or another rider that becomes world champion) is the better rider ? I don't think so.
And what if AC goes to ride the nationals and doesn't win the championship ? Does that mean that the rider that does is the better rider ? Again, I don't think so.
Can't we all just enjoy the racing ? What is happening this year is something we have been waiting for for ages. I really hope RV can step up his game a little so we can enjoy more great races in the near future.
People that to this day still say that one of the series is superiour to the other have no idea what they are talking about. There is great racing to be found on each side of the pond.
