My old man got the new Factory Edition 250 last week. I rode it yesterday for a few laps at our track yesterday and it is definitely a nice bike. I really like the way it corners. He wasn't quite done breaking in the motor yet so I didn't run it hard but I still felt like the motor was nice. It felt maybe a little smoother but not as snappy as my 2014 KX250F but, again, we were still breaking in the motor. The suspension felt great.

I only rode it three laps but my initial impression was that it's an impressive bike. I've always been a Kawi fan but I may have to give this new KTM some serious consideration before buying my next bike.

Put an hour and half on my FE 250 yesterday - all the MX tracks were under water so I went to a ORV area near Bend.

As a rider I'm 62 years young, an expert level rider, and weight in under 160 before gear

It is certainly one sweet bike! The bike is very light. I set the rear sag a 105 mm and left the clickers alone at first. I rode the 2014 4cs forks and they sucked big time. This version is real nice - the first 4 inches are really smooth in the initial stroke. I ended up backing out the compression all the way and will need to take out about 10 to 15 cc of oil in the forks would be my guess. Did is say this bike is light!

Made lots of creature comfort adjustments: Levers, handlebar position, brake lever free play....transmission is very tight and neutral is hard to come by. This will loosen up as the hours accumulate.

Found a 1/4 mile woooopped out section and blasted through it several times - tracked real straight and never once felt out of control. Rode lots of fun rippin single track - however the close ration gear box is no so fun......this is as MX bike not a trail bike and the next ride is on the schedule for a MX trackSilly

This bike wants to be ridden forward - get behind a bit and she wants to loose the front, this might have been a touch front tire as the sand was very dry in some corners. However when I moved up on the tank (used the full seat as designed) and it carved much better.

Did I say this bike is light!!! It is awesome to ride the same bike that the factory team is using. Yes there is some special bits and a lot more attention on the factory bikes - but his is one impressive bikeWoohoo

Enter "progperk" for 25% off on Genius chargers www.genius chargers.com

BTW- N-Style has the templates for the '15.5 Factory Editions (They supply the Troy Lee team and have had the template for awhile now. They have the Troy Lee team graphics in stock and can also make/ design CUSTOM graphics for your bike. They can also do just the backgrounds... Contact Karen @ KarenM@n-style.com or (661)294-1118 or (800)831-9043

Karen will hook you up, just mention that Shaun Langham sent you.

If anyone finds part #'s for replacement plastics, please post them or message me PLEASE. I need a set ASAP. I hear that Polisport may have them out very soon, but I haven't gotten confirmation from them yet. The early bikes (Magazine/ test bikes) came with decals on them... NO Embedded graphics on any of the plastics. The fact that KTM did the side plates and front # plate with the #5 EMBEDED in the plastic is straight DUMB !! JMO
Thanks for the discount code. I was going to buy a new charger.

If you're going to put pre-printed backgrounds on the # plates why would you care if they were imprinted underneath?

You can lay preprinted numbers over the exsisting numbers on the bike.

I am no test rider by any means but I rode my 450 for a little over an hour (4-20 min practices) Sunday. First thing I noticed is how light and nimble it is in the corners. Very easy to switch directions. Felt steady in high speed rollers. I'm not totally sure what to think of the motor as I was still breaking it in and didn't change any of the map settings, but it felt smooth and not to aggressive. I cant wait to log some more seat time once the post first season ride soreness goes away!

Last bike was a 2012 Factory Edition.

Any new news on the 350 coming out?

When you guys say breaking it in, what are you doing? Ktm run a heavier break in oil, ( mineral i believe )that is supposed to be changed after an hour Of use.

Me personally, i just warm them up properly then run them hard. Never had any engine failures. But i do get bikes every 2-3 years

The manual suggests a pretty lengthy break in period. I can't remember what it says specifically but I remember reading it last week and thinking wow.

I finally came out of hybernation and stopped at the local shop today for some suspension oil and got a look at the new 250f. The KTM dealer is the only shop in town that supports moto. I'm not making the jump, but that's the best looking KTM I've ever seen. Might have to try and get a demo ride on one of those when the '16s come out.

I have that seem feeling whenever I walk into any showroom and see any new bike on display. I think they all look cool brand new.

HAHA That's true. They had it all propped up on a lift in the show room like a shrine! Laughing Just kidding, they always have a bike on display up there. They ordered 3 450s and 250s but only got one of each. One of my buddies has a brand new 250t and now the 250 SXF FE. Life is good. Cool

As I'm moving up from a 125 to a 250f I really wanted the FE 250 but holy **** the price is high and I won't be able to get one until may. The price in the US is usually about $1000 cheaper than here but now it's roughly about $2000 more in the US, I don't even wanna know the price of them in Sweden even if I wouldn't pay for it. Lets go yamaha

I bought the new 250FE and wanted a oil filter because you are supposed to change the oil after the first hour. My dealer said the oil filter was the same as last years.

Nothing yet. It all depends on who you talk to as to what the answers are. No consistency.

That said, hopefully soon.

I hear us I just think it's ridiculous that you pay over 10g to them and they can't get any answers. I mean I'm not asking for much just a little more than "we don't know"

We have overlayed graphics on top of the printed KTM shrouds and not had them show thru.

Does anybody know how the launch control works? Still trying to figure that one out. Just made the switch from green, I've been riding Kxs since 2007. All I can say about the new Ktm is that thing can turn!

Not sure if it's the same or not my dealer said no I asked them to double check and pulled up the computer on the engine and it showed a long type filter. I bought it and when I went to install it after pulling the old one out, the one they sold me does not fit.
