Honda CR250 2014 Complete

Edited Date/Time 4/28/2016 4:22am
I finally have some time to write about this project. Last fall I was wondering if I was willing to jump in the AF project or go with a 450. I finally decided to make the move and went hunting for a CR250 2001. After finding the beast I went to my dealer and got a good deal on a 2014 CRF250R. I was wondering if I should stick to my 2012 CRF250R since the information about the AF conversion were easier to find. The only person that were doing conversion on a GEN6 frame was Service Honda and an Italian guy. Pretty hard to get the needed informations. I won't go in all the details on how to build this bike but you can enjoy some pictures. As for now I'm waiting on the hub to get powder coated and my suspension to come back. Let just say that cutting a brand new CRF frame is a really special emotion.... Just for the fun of it I never started the CRF250R motor (still for sale...). I can wait that the snow melt in Quebec (I'm a french canadian so sorry for my bad english).

Looks great so far!! It has to be difficult cutting up a brand new bike, but will be worth it in the end. Your English is good by the way. No need to apologize.

My dad think I'm nuts and I reply the Apple never fell far from the trees!!!

Bonjour la France!

You need to build or buy an adapter to replace the fuel pump assemly or you can get one from loudmouthmx ans simply get an OEM o-ring and petcock(everything is explain on there web site.

When I'll have more time I'll make a Quick guide with parts number to order but not before I try the bike o be sûre that everything is fine.

I think buying a good used frame off ebay for me would have been easier for me than cutting up a new one, lol.!!!!!

Thanks,

Getting a 2014 frame on ebay is almost like winning at the lottery ;-)

WOW! You must have lots of self control to not even start the new CRF, and even more focus to get the grinder out on it!!
Im following this one!

Started to laced up the wheels this week-end. Really hating doing this but you do what you have to do. The color look way nicer under good light. Might be able to to the first run check in the street by the end of the week.

Looking good, won't be long now.

Coming from the guy whol built one of the trickiest CR250AF it's an honnor.

I wasn't expecting another snow storm today and was hoping for a road test today... Guess I'll have to wait another day! I think my girlfriend is more happy than me since I won't be in the garage as much as I was the last few week since it's almost done.

Thanks! Did you have a chance to ride you're 250 2009?

We received another 3" of snow last night.... Guess I'll have to wait few weeks before doing the first bike test.
