I believe "WP" dropped the "White Power" from its branding for obvious reasons. I just heard a documentary on how "White Power" got its name. I believe White is a name of the founders. Its intent was not racist.

That's what I figured. Couldn't see it actually being founded by some peckerwoods, Aryan types that claim to be the master race... That's the other thing, since it's the frickin dudes name there should never be shit said about it. Its time for everyone to quit looking for something to bitch about. This story is correct. Listen into the podcast that Steve Matthes did with Ross Maeda last week, Ross met the owners and talks about the name of the company.

Correct, Henk Theuis is the original owner / founder. White Brothers just happened to end up being the U.S. distributor, no ownership / relation.

I had a set of the inverted White Power forks on my 1988 CR250. They were pretty sweet. I think the name had to do with White Brothers importing them from Europe. Just to clarify they were White Power but they were actually black fork uppers Smile

It would behoove you to start acting as if you have the intelligence of a doctor rather than the stupidity of an ignorant political hack and realize that the black panthers voter intimidation story was reported by far more outlets than Fox News.

The shock springs were painted white. That was the only color they could get them painted when they first started the company . They were made by a hospital supply company, hospital beds or something. So they called the company White Power.

No one was named white. they are a Ducth company, so they have funny names, no one is named white.

And White Brothers only imported the springs, they were not the manufacturer. White Brothers is no longer around.

Since White Power has a negative connotation in the US, they changed the name to WP.

WP not only makes suspension, they make KTM Frames, exhaust, and radiators.

If it bothers you, continue to call it White Power. get yourself a White Power t shirt, they still make them. I have seen a few for sale in KY and TN. They are usually all black with WHITE POWER in big letters across the chest. usually right next to the Rebel flags and PBR.
