Forgetting Reed rode it. His loss if he were to try and sell it for more with the suspension still on it. If it were your bike and you were selling it, would you leave the suspension on the bike or sell that separately?
In US $$, that bike is a 3K bike, Tops. Never would have made it on Flea-Bay with that suspension still on it IMO. That would be stupid.
At most, you'd let whoever bought the bike know that the suspension was for sale separately as well and maybe give them a discount if they wanted it.
It'd be worth an extra 1K if he left the suspension on it. 4K Tops.
The suspension alone would be worth at least 2K
Reedy does - the fact that someone is potentially making money off his likeness, at least without discussing it prior isn't cool to him, that's pretty normal for famous people... If it was a brand or actor/singer in a similar situation, they'd be annoyed as well... Likeness for promotion is part of their IP and brand, and most famous people and/or organisations protect it...
Having said that, if you're Stone, do whatever the fuck you want. People are gonna judge you either way, good and bad. Some people believe it's all for charity, none for charity, the gear value is for charity etc. Seems like there are a few versions out there from the posts above.
Maybe 3 people actually know, most likely no one here.... and it sounds like not one of them communicated effectively as to what might/could happen. As usual, people bagging on Reed because he says what he thinks... But to him someone is attempting to use his brand to potentially make a lot money, without consent and the other dude is assumable trying to make a buck. It's America isn't it? And besides... If the posts are down, it's more than likely being settled and who gives a fuck except a bunch of Reed bashing Vital homies...
Carry on. I'm doing uni work.

The retard ruins and takes over every thread he posts in. Just an argumentative troll.
Cameron doesn't need jack shit from Chumpy to sell the bike and the gear, at any price he sees fit.
I think you just like to argue 991. I don't think you have ever had an opinion you truly owned. You
will just take the opposite of whatever anyone is saying just to argue.
You know as well as I do there's not a damn thing Chumpy can do, or his high dollar lawyers for that fact.
I would love to get my hands on that damn suspension I'll tell that much!
i sold my 09 kx250 stock suspension for like 900$. 2009. spring. new stuff is even more than that.
those are spring A kits. cheapest youre going to find those in that condition of his is 3K.
those upper tubes are in good condition. know how much they are? 750$.
so 1k is nuts man.
Without just being lucky.
Typically, half it. = 4K
Get this through your thick skull. It's Cameron's bike and he can do whatever the fuck he wants with it. If he wants to trade it for the queens crown, a bag of dank, or 50 fucking grand, it's his to do whatever he pleases. He doesn't need Reeds permission to do shit.
Never said Cameron can't do with or sell the bike however he sees fit!! Ya fucking knuckle head

I probably paid $20 retail for them when new. Now they are autographed. So in theory I could ebay them. But according to 991 I first need to get a wavier from the riders and I better sell the models for no more than $20 each, more like $10 each according to him.
991, you're just a dumb fuck. You and Chumpy are giving Aussies a bad name this week.
And you do fuck up the threads you post in.
actually tell you what. find some for that much, even with the bike, and i'll buy as much as you can find. have you ever bought AKit suspension or internals? i can guarantee you, 1K wont get you far. sorry youre wrong on this.
For #991
You have Cameron's word he'll donate. You have it in writing from an organiser that Chad already has previously donated.,
He's already passed up the chance to donate the riding gear directly.
That sounds fair.
If he would have taken time to meet Cameron, shake his hand like a grown man, properly thank him face to face and engage in an actual one on one conversation with the guy then this whole situation could have been avoided.
From Reed's statement, it appears he has an issue with the fact the signed gear and bike appeared on eBay so soon, as it was intended as a gift of thanks. From his point of view, an offer to buy the bike was also knocked back, or at the very least not followed up, which probably lead him to believe the bike was a 'keeper' for Stone. Reed clearly thought he was looking after a 'fan' with a freshened up bike and valuable signed gear - and the whole lot ended up on eBay the next day. I can kinda understand why he would have a foul taste in his mouth.
Stone's story seems to have varied a little over time, but the bottom line is, even if it wasn't in the best taste to flog it for profit so quickly, he is free to do as he likes with the bike and gear. He hasn't broken any laws by advertising the Reed connection, just like anyone else selling a signed poster/baseball/cap on the net. The 'charity' angle was very poorly explained in the eBay ad mind you - it's always best to be completely transparent if you have charitable intentions from the sale of something.
For me, where his story kinda falls over is the fact he asked for Reed's gear so it could be "donated to the charity", which didn't happen. Instead, it simply became an add-on to the bike sale, with a rather loose promise that 'some' figure would end up going to the charity. Not well handled.
My take on it is.......Stone can do what he wants with the goods, but he could have perhaps handled it better. Be clearer with TwoTwo when asking for the gear, be clearer on what proportion of the sale will end up with St Jude, and heck, why not involve TwoTwo in the process? Make it clear you are selling the bike to fund your own racing activities, but run the gear as a separate auction, purely for charity, and hit the team up for some other items to throw in the mix.
Reed has perhaps been a bit vicious in his response but Stone has been somewhat murky with how he has handled the whole thing.
And that's coming from an Aussie.
