Herlings really is something else. I knew he wouldn't be able hold back haha
he's doing the same lap times all race.
It's Covington who lost 2 seconds on that lap.

Great job by Thomas though.

covington has alot of potential- i think he is better than his results last year. Impressive that herlings can come back less than 100% and still ride like that. both classes will be good this year

This sounds an epic battle for such a awful track, maybe that's why Covington is leading, not taking anything away from of course

Covington is also leading a lot of proven GP winners, not just Herlings.
He seems to do well at this track, hopefully he'll carry it into the more traditional races with a year of experience and not fade so much like last season.

bit disrespectful to call him a nobody! he was a top amateur rider in the states, just chosen to take a different career path to the usual by going to gps- his old man could afford for him to get a ride on any team in the states if he wanted to!!!

hopefully we will see more consistency from covington this year. He looked great at times last year - definitely got potential

Everyone is packed up and only the leader has "clean air."

I figured that would happen on a track with no flow.

Waht's new ? Herlings just need 15 days on the bike to beat everyone again it seems...

Covington was very impressive last year at Qatar also, then fell off the map. Hopefully he can stay consistent this year.

Herlings is a freak show, not 100% and still won.

Hoping rv can get top 3 so he can get a good gate pick for tomorrow.

I apologize for going crazy with all the twitter updates during the MX2 race.
I will not add as many during the MX1 race.

He needs to move up he's been in mx2 for waaaaaaaay too long.

Sorry to state the obvious but remember today was just a 20min + 2 laps race. Tomorrow could be a whole other story when they have to go 30 +2. Really hope those boys eat their Wheaties and give Jeffrey a good run.

Maybe Herlings is better than he and KTM have been telling the last weeks...

I didnt call him a nobody. I said he was never talked about as an american contender. Its been all RV2 no mention of Covington. MX2 was all but handed to JH on here, Covington was never mentioned as a possibility of late... Hardly calling him a nobody

Or maybe it has something to do with Herlings being that much better than everyone else. He's a phenom.

Herlings is unreal. To do that with just a couple of weeks on the bike is impressive. Great ride by Covington and Ferrandis. Tixier rode very well too through the field... if he gets a start tomorrow he should be up there.

Only question is has Herlings got enough fitness to go 30 plus 2 twice tomorrow?

I thought it was great. I don't know the first thing about twitter, and your updates were often ahead of the timing.

Did not think Jeffrey would have the speed this early in the season with the injury and all
Well at least Herlings had some good company training in spain

Agreed, he's also very young. He should be around 18 this year? 19? I remember he was on 85's when I was on big bikes, so I'm pretty sure he's a couple years younger than I am.

This was Covington's best race of the season, every other one was a tie for the worst... needs to show some consistency early season this year.
