For a 125 I always thought this quad after the triple was gnarly. Pretty sure bubba was the only one doing it. Watch at 16:35.

Good one! That shit was gnarly that year!!!!

Also crazy that James couldn't get it like RC, he did it a few times and just kept messing it, Rc had it dialed!

Hard to believe that was 13 years ago, seems like yesterday.

a few come to mind.

1. Jerez 96, a couple pictures postd above. Steve Lamson won the 125/500 combined moto and heel clickered that downhill triple. It was significant because the track officials admitted to building a jump big enough that the american's wouldn't hit it, and Lamson beat everyone on the planet, heel clickered it, on a 125.

2. Budds Creek 03, Backwards configuration, James Stewart goes last to first, and just before passing I believe Brock Sellards, he jumps off the top of what would be the launch of "Big Gulp" (it's a 90ft upill triple on the normal current configuration) and the AMA track officials told Beasley he could never run the track backwards because of that one huck.

They have run the track backwards since then for sure, but I remember that race. Incredible what James did that day.

Also honorable mention was at Budd's. Track ran backwards again, I think on practice day Metcalfe and someone else were trying to clear what was a huge step down (the step up by the start straight now). It used to be an easy 100 plus feet and during the actual race no one was even close to clearing it. On practice day Metty blew out his front spokes trying to clear it. A privateer was the only one to pull it off flawlessly without breaking anything on his bike. I forgot his number. Just crazy....

Has this been posted yet? This shot doesn't show the whole picture of the uphill doubles at Saddleback...but to me this picture of David Bailey hucking it over the two is one of the best shots in MX ever.

What a beautiful line. I like how he just floats over the landing, like gravity somehow changed for him.

Too bad we don't have any footage of those guys hucking that Saddleback road jump, I'd love to see that.
