JGR must have the capability to machine their fork tubes in their entirety. The last couple weeks, I've noticed, and I could be mistaken, that their right fork tube has the start device catch machined into the fork leg. Which means they're making their own forks, because KYB isn't doing that. Unless they've been kashima coating their holeshot device catch mechanisms.

apologies, can't find a photo, but i think I saw it on the home page here.

Now imagine what else they're doing.

I applaud JGR for their effort in all the r&d but at a certain point i feel there is no going back to a good base setup with all the crazy things they try to implement.

Would love to tour that facility for sure. JGR will win a championship before they're through. Really cool they have Phil Nicoletti for fill in rider.

JGR uses Kite holeshot devices, which are anodized almost the same color as the fork tube. They aren't machining their own fork tubes, they are KYB units.

Do you know any details of how they're developing Barcia's bike? Barcia doesn't look comfortable on the bike and I have the most difficult time finding a reason that they can't get it set up to work with him. Is it that Barcia isn't a great test rider?

Barcia probably isn't a very good test rider. I think the best he has ever looked on a 450 is when he rode Trey's bike that one summer a few years back.

Last I asked, they were working heavily with suspension and chassis (new linkage/bell crank and new settings). However, he isn't currently riding right now due to his injury.

I hate to do this being i'm no pro. But I've always believed barcia's problem on the 450 is he is so aggressive and rides the shit out of it like a 250..

I would love to see JGR do well, I've driven down yeas ago and got the mini tour. The place is awesome.

I'm right there with you. But I think the guys at JGR would tone the power down or change the mapping to suit his style if that were the issue. If you watch his bike in rhythm sections and in whoops, the suspension doesn't seem to be working with him. He's over shooting and coming up short on jumps. Getting kicked all over the place in whoops. It all sounds like suspension stuff to me but it could be due to acceleration and power issues also. I don't know. Like everyone else, I would like to see JGR get in the mix. They've served their tenure and have the resources to win a championship, but just can't seem to attract the right rider.

Barcia just isn't what everyone expected in the 450 class is all it amounts to. We all had high hopes for him but unfortunately there are just better riders. He is good and probably the best JGR could pick up at the moment. JGR have some really great bike and parts that is for sure.

Damn, if we're to believe Chad Reed, that's like $300,000 worth of footpegs right there.
