I wonder if James could ever be in the same situation, in other words being sued by the people who pay him bonuses?
Armstrong must return the $10M due to making false statements under oath (perjury), not PED usage directly. Other than taking a banned substance there is almost no correlation between LA and JS' situations.

There was someone at the weekend in Dallas that was mentioned in the commentary that a couple of the 250 guys almost cleared without trying.

I agree though, he might have crashed and burned doing some things sometimes, but damn it was entertaining to see.

Daytona 2011 is the one that sticks out to me, where he was jumping that wall and had the massive slam, came back to a good position if I remember.

Yeah i know.. another thread about stewart.

But if there´s one thing i really miss about him not being out there, it´s his ability to jump and do stuff that no one else does. He can pull out a quad in the main that no one has done the entire weekend and riders like reed, barcia etc sees it and does the same the lap after. In my opinion he always raises the bar even though he´s not always winning when he´s doing it.

I havent seen anyone do anything like that this year.

A great example is the vid below. Toronto 2014

As most rider's have mentioned in interviews, there hasn't even really been anything "big" to go for at the races this year, and I think that's the honest truth. I've yet to do track walk this year where I've noticed anything that's even slightly do-able by that standard.
Yeah. That's what's amazing out of stewart. I guarantee he would if found some crazy jumps so far this year. Nobody is on his level anymore

The triple triple he was doing before the finish line in toronto wasnt very big either, it just wasnt something people would think to do.

He has a knack for finding things to do different but I do have to agree the tracks this year have been very vanilla.

Even boring at some races.

There are times when James looks for places to carry speed THRU a section/combo when others are just lookmg to get thru or over them.

I miss that.

That Toronto race in the OP is proof that a reducing the technicality of the tracks over the last 6-8 years has done nothing but help the competition be better against someone as talented on a supercross track as James Stewart. A lot of the current crop of riders can't do the jump combos that James does. It's been proven time and time again. If the tracks weren't so tame, James would have more wins purely because he is the most skilled technical rider on a supercross track.

The industry insist that the sport hasn't lost a beat without JS7 and RV. I'm not sure if they are basing that on dollar figures or pure race excitement? I attended A1 and have watched each race after and I have yet to hear a crowd (or announcer) react like they did in this video. I've already found myself recording the races and watching them when I have the time, last season, I didn't miss a live race.

A lot of the current top pros are more focused on finishing every race in a series. James is amazing, but hasn't finished a complete series since 09(?).

He'll be back...if for nothing else but show them how he can roll when he's 100%. The only ones out there going anywhere near his speed now are Dungey & Canard. I don't think he's scared.

Which makes him that much more exciting. He wants to win a Championship...but he's also not willing to settle or be content with a 5th for the night.

That outlook really brings excitement as that rider (JS7 in this case) will fight tooth and nail for every spot, instead of just playing follow the leader.

It was 100% better with JS7 (& RV2) out there. No question.

The dust is settling, and the class isn't proving to be as packed as we thought for contenders. Eli is so hot/cold its funny. Reed's mr inconsistent. Anderson is a midpack guy. Cole Seely has moments of greatness but can't keep it going. Milsaps has been the largest upset in recent years. Deano's out, etc etc. Andrew Short's outshining most of these guys week in, week out!

In short...I can't wait for JS7's suspension to lift!

Yea, for sure this year has not panned out to be very exciting in the 450 divsion. The 250's have been awesome to watch though. I think the tracks are just better suited to the 250's honestly. I think it would be tough for Stew to make these tracks very interesting. At Dallas the dang floor was showing all over the track. They talked about how tacky the dirt was....well, there wasn't much dirt in the spots were you needed traction the most. Couple of buddies went down hard in qualifying. Track was treacherous. I can't wait for Stew to get back...bring some excitement back to the big bikes.

Imagine if Blake was on his current 450 ride when he hit that jump. The guy would have cleared the entire sand whoop section in a single leap!Woohoo

I can't wait for him to come back. The racing has been good, but nobody out there has the ability to just awe you like James can.

Of course, when Dungey winds up winning the SX Championship this year...there'll be a bunch of chumps putting an asterisk by his name saying he only won because RV & JS7 weren't there.

It'd be better with him out there, but this championship will most likely come down to vegas, which we haven't had since 2011. I'm not losing any sleep over James not being there as he probably wouldn't have been able to stay upright to contend for the championship.

This year not so much.. Maybe my weed is better this year.

While what Baggett was doing at freestone was very impressive, he had a little bit of a landing. James Stewart was jumping around the same height and flat landingSick

If you're just booting out like that I'd rather goto flat...

Sure if you hit that landing ramp right it's a slight help, but the consequences of fucking it up are worse than the landing to flat.

They will and I hate that. I'm a fan of the 7 bike but if it's not at the gate it's irrelevant. Might as well say he only won because Jesus wasn't there on his Super Quad Cycle. Jesus surely would have fucking smoked everybody. Led every fucking lap all season. Sure, you can speculate, Maybe Jesus would have beaten Ryan straight up. Maybe. We don't know. Jesus wasn't there and discrediting a kick ass champion like Mr. Dungey or anyone else for that matter based on a fucking hypothetical is absurd.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda....... If they didn't line up at the gate, then they didn't line up at the gate.

BS... Whoever wins this year, there has already been 4 winners... Potentially a couple more.

Just commenting on discrediting winners based on garbage.

I'm not saying it's going to be anyone. It's still open for sure. The other poster used RD5 bas an example and I ran with it because, let's face it, he does look pretty good right now and the red plate backs that up.

He finished 2011; just DNF'd Vegas. Still counts. When James fucks up it's usually doing the not-so-amazing things, so I don't know if you have an argument. I don't think there was anything too special about his pass (i.e. passage) through the whoops at A1 last year, or the corner he twisted his knee in. The crash that knocked him out (i.e. of the series) in 2012, he was doing the same old lines as everyone else, and doing them about 2 seconds a lap slower than RV.
