Yeah... Was it 2011 I think, maybe the hardest, most visually flat dirt I've ever seen. Looked like it'd never seen water ever ever ever.

Milisaps looked like a Noob looping his bike out and almost taking his teeth out in the process....he's fagged out of shape in a huge way...I have not laughed so hard at a rider in years.., thanks Dave Loopsaks.....

Regardless of what caused it, one just doesn't see it very often.

On another note GuyB, did many riders you talked to discuss the new dirt being better or worse? Looked a bit better but still very hard..

Several. The guys I talked to after the race said it got slick in spots, but that it was still a big improvement.

Glad they did something. The dirt they have been using has been around since Pentons were a big deal, I think.
I love that new dirt smell...

They touched... Watch Trey's front wheel jerk sideways from the hit, and Davi loops as it unloads his rear tyre, spins and grabs.
I know a lot of people say Trey didn't make contact. But his bars went to the right a bit and he then proceeded to dabble his foot. Just enough contact to upset TC's balance and enough to completely screw DM18 up. Complete accident.

I've watched in slow mo a few times before saying this. There is one camera angle that really shows Treys bar turn quickly and then his foot goes down. Milliseconds before DM goes down hard.

From Trey's FB page...

Always an honor to do the seat wheelie in pop's honor. Good night in Dallas, bummed to touch 18's rear wheel and see him go down. Besides that we had a great day. Awesome to see my family.

Just saw Trey's Instagram.

Bummer about DM18 and hope feels better. He rung his bell and concussions are no joke. As far as Canard, could tell after the incident he was a tad shooked up.

Sucks that it happened. Milsaps was looking the best he has all year. Did look like he was seeing stars after he hit the handlebars - hope he is good for next week.

So just saw the facebook post of Trey's and was going to just leave it here, but seems people have already done so...

Didn't think Trey's bars woud jerk like that or Davi would just randomly larry his bike either...

If Trey said he touched Millsap's rear tire then he touched it...I was wrong. But looking at the replay frame by frame you can't see it. I stand corrected.

Dunlop is putting a extra row of knobs on their prototype back tires for better traction. There was a photo on ronronmx.

OK, it's settled that Trey hit Davi before #18 looped out--but I don't understand the physics of it. How did Trey's bumping the #18 bike cause him to loop out? Was it a case of Davi getting thrown to the rear of the bike and getting whiskey throttle? That's what it looked like to me in real time--Davi too far back on the bike and maybe not being able to release the throttle.

It doesn't, that's why I don't understand why people think that's what caused it. I think he might have had a little arm pump and maybe the little bump upset his line enough to cause him to make a mistake.

It's interesting that last week on one of the Mathis (Wink ) podcasts Ping and JT$ were talking about Trey's amazing propensity for following extremely close. They had a long discussion about it. It makes me think that those guys might have an in with one of the SX writers.

Ya I've heard/read a few times that the other guys don't neccassarily love riding around Trey, he's always pushing it and has a lot of sketchy moments...

plynn41... When you get that bump from behind, it pushes you forward... and your rear tyre away from the slope of the dirt as it is dropping down, your tyre goes forward... So the amount of throttle that with traction would be drive, is now free, causes the rear to spin, then when it makes contact again, you have effectively shifted your weight back, spun the rear and are headed for whisky throttle... LARRY!

IWreckalot.. Do you watch IJ? Love that shit... I've been listening to BQ on a podcast for years... golden.

Or simply consider that the tires are spinning in opposite directions. Anyone who's followed any kind of open wheel racing knows that tire-to-tire contact usually results in bad things happening.

Yep... Tho I don't know how long they rubbed for, either way that traction there while the rear being unloaded is what caused it.

If it was Nicoletti or a heavier handed guy I might have believed it was a loop out, but Davi is really skilled, be surprised to see him Larry like that.
