Have you guys ever spoken to chad personally? On multiple occasions I have in person, and not the "your the best" fan talk. I actually got to talk with him for a little while in 05 after stl sx. He was super frustrated that night from getting beat slightly by RC again. Yet when I talked, he was really cool. If you are a straight up, blunt person, then you understand him and he seems to understand you. JT is similar with his thoughts etc. Chads wife Ellie is the exact same! They are all nice people who out there hearts into this sport. Similar to James, I was always a reedy fan. Didn't like stewart one bit. But I respect him and I think it sucks he isn't racing right now. He has matured mentally and has come al ong way. Of course, not everyone can be the consumant professional like Windham. One of a kind for sure.

No, probably very few on here have ever had a real conversation with Chad and can agree or dispute that he is a "crybaby", a "prick", a "douche", a "whiner" or whatever. All I can speak of is what I've seen on video interviews or read in media print...and both of those are pretty damned biased. I've always respected Chad as a great rider and a champion...but from what I've seen he has very little or any filter on what he says. What he thinks just shoots out of his mouth no matter what. I guess you can call that "being real" or "not holding back"...but it also makes him sound like a constant complainer and excuse maker, whether he is or not. I doubt he'll ever change that about himself no matter how many times he's critisized about it, so I guess he'll always be pretty much the only rider that is a polarizing as JS7 is to race fans. You either love him or you don't.

I'd agree with most of the sentiment above. He is a bad man on a dirt scooter and has made it to the absolute top of this sport more than once. That demands respect. But, as others have said, I don't like him at all.

There will be people that say "But you guys always say you're tired of robots! Reed speaks his mind and you hate him!" You can speak your mind without being a total prick about it. Reed shows the least amount of respect for his fellow riders and constantly complains.

He had a little taste of humble pie when none of the factories would pick him up in 2011 because he had burned so many bridges. He changed a bit and I jumped on his bandwagon. Then, slowly but surely, he started to turn right back into the old Reed and I'm off the bandwagon.

The same people who complain about riders being "robots", are the same people who get their panites in a wad when Chad says something unpopular. He says what's he's thinking, and sometimes it isn't what you want to hear. While I don't agree with everything Chad says/does, I still respect the hell out of the guy.

The funny thing about the CR22 MX title is everyone good got hurt within the first two weeks and CR22 was the only one good left. Now if that was RD he would have been made fun of for winning a easy championship.

Regardless of what anyone here thinks, he still got the biggest applause BY FAR from the crowd in Oakland, and that was right after black flag gate. Say what you will, but there are a LOT more supporters than haters out there.

a whiner?... well everyone does in some form or fashion.....During the RC/STEW days dude seemed really frustrated and he came off pretty whiney....but i guess thats expected....

last few years since social media kicked into hight gear, it kind of seems like he is just playin a role...doing/saying things for reaction or to keep his name in the gossip column


overall.... probably a cool dude to swill a few with and do laps on the go kart track........
